  1. Sorry in advance. Scenario: You're buying standing (by the m3), harvesting and selling 1000m3 of larch for biomass and the buyer is paying £25/m3 for the stuff. However the buyer wants to pay on tonnage at £20/tonne... Seeing as larch in the blue book is 1.2m3 per tonne thus 25 x 0.8 = 20 so does that make no difference??? I am being profoundly thick I know
  2. Smartwool (again); sorry but I think bridgedale are rubbish - not cold but course weave and less sweat wicking than smartwool.
  3. Pete Teagle Simon Brench Do you mean roundwood or logs?
  4. His back will be in tatters; my word! painful watching it isn't it!
  5. How things have changed; Euroforest picking up DF log from me; paying £32/metre in 2013! Quite right. 100 m3 of DF log makes £3200 at roadside selling at current rate offered in South West by EuroF. If I log the lot and sell for firewood in due course it makes £14,000 !!! (*gross)
  6. Good mpg?!!! L200?!!!
  7. I have a double cab and will never have another. Sure I can put a good mess in there but in 5 years it's been occupied by a passenger for 5 days and it is LESS comfortable than a super cab! - the wasted space under the rear seat + in the super cab the seats are lower down so a passanger can sit or lie sideways. There is more room in the super cab than the double cab - we measured it!
  8. Took the words right out of my mouth.
  9. well that wasn't predictable! I 'phoned and got permission before you all get your holier than thou halo's on! Obviously wasn't intentional! They forgot in the morning rush; I wasn't complaining, just talking...
  10. Had one of those arb jobs today where the customer had left her car right under the conifers we were felling Gone to work and left it there despite us saying about it etc etc. Working round it would have done our heads in so we just dragged it backwards out of the way. Was this a fairly S.O.P in this incidence or very very naughty?
  11. Volvo, van damme and enya, what have you done?! Epic.
  12. Oh Enya Great thread

  16. Not anti - chinese, but currently not supportive of chinese manufacturing and being a net importer. Plus the lego in my avatar was manufactured in 1980 and NOT made in china, but denmark. You are obviously an investor in the chinese economy? You know I am not but you don't have to try and make me look stupid on here just because we have different opinions??? You can't avoid having something made in China in life now and it's good to see a country develop a manufacturing base with foreign investment; like the article says though, culturally they see no problem with copying, faking and sub standard QC.
  17. From the Far East to Watford - Chinese manufacturers almost sunk one luxury goods firm but British ones saved it - Yahoo Finance UK
  18. As above, by far the best mpg that any 4x4 pickup has achieved so far - just stupidly good on fuel. I want one for the log round!
  19. One new customer for every degree lower Picking up now for obvious reasons...
