  1. I'm importing from the US so go to the USA on the Dolmar page here: DOLMAR - Find DOLMAR or Distribution Partners = http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/
  2. tis here and as above DOLMAR - Chain saws gasoline
  3. DOLMAR - PS-5105 http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/productcatalog/chain_saws_gasoline/ps-5105/PS-5105.pdf and DOLMAR - PS-6100 http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/productcatalog/chain_saws_gasoline/ps-6100/PS-6100.pdf For starters the PS-6100 is at current exchange rates £305.25 plus shipping at roughly £80-100 and import duty at roughly £60-80 = worst case £485 inc. No vat reclaim tho on US import. 5105 was £286 but prices have actually gone down !!! Imagine being in the US buying a saw in the 5105 class for less than £300; rip off britain!
  4. OREGON® Hand Held Chain Saw Replacement Parts as suspected, D009 mount specifically, 363RNDD009
  5. yertiz, chirz fer the pointer http://www.forestry.gov.uk/website/pdf.nsf/pdf/FC-BEC-InfoSheet-Wood-as-Fuel-TechSupp.pdf/$FILE/FC-BEC-InfoSheet-Wood-as-Fuel-TechSupp.pdf
  6. If you're not tall that is. I put my 50cc with 16" down and felled the remaining 200 ton with 76cc of firepower and a 20" bar. Reason? No more bad back!
  7. Just done thanks for the advice.
  8. At last! The 10 Log People Commandments - dos and don'ts for a roaring fire that will burn for hours
  9. that old chestnut; needs put to death for good that old lie. Both h/wood and s/wood form creosotes if not seasoned properly. Why oh why indeed you got a link to this chart on Wilsons site? Thanks. I will join you in re-educating; I'm in. I don't think there will a choice for much longer; I've gone 50/50 hard/soft this year, providing a newsletter to customers to explain why. There simply isn't enough hardwood to meet demand. I know that 1 out of 10 stove shops in the Plymouth area installed 250 new woodburners between May and August this year! They and the chimney sweep unfortunately tell the new stove owners to burn only hardwood and that softwood is evil blah blah blah. For instance look at this well known shops web page info on the matter; immediately starts with saying alder is a poor firewood!! Which Wood? - Dean Forge Then you've got this page saying "hardwood burns hottest" http://www.logs2u.co.uk/product-faqs The stove manufacturer and the woodman have complete opposite viewpoints; how can that be remedied?
  10. too cheap; £100 imo
  11. max is 20" but struggles and is nose heavy. 18" is best compromise, 16" sweet
  12. I totally agree. I got 'had' back in October when I sold a pair of cycling shoes that were too wide. The winning bidder paid well over the odds for them and I found out why: before long and in spite of all the evidence they claimed they never turned up and demanded a refund, case open etc. Ebay ruled in his favour and billled me for the refund. I flatly refuse to repay it, especially since I tracked the buyer down on facebook and there he was in the shoes. Ebay have closed my account after years of using them and 400 odd positive feedback. Look at the other guys feedback - a handful of similar issues. Old saying - Feck 'em.
  13. 25 quid ??? !!! Oh man, :scared1:
  14. I had about 15 tonne of pine taking up space in my yard; It was supposedly spoken for but the lady couldn't take it quick enough so I had to get rid. I boarded up the forwarder turning it into a dumper and filled it a few times and chucked the lot onto the embers from the previous days big fire; it burnt superbly with no fireworks; oh well a few quids worth up in smoke
  15. That conversion is a Watford Commercials special. A nice box yes (without the tool box on a club cab hilux) They cut a few corners i.e. the fuel filler neck leaks where it is welded to a support bracket and they do not uprate the springs - that will be doing a take-off impression with half a load of chip so you need to go for the 1 ton extra rated (not 500kg option) leaf springs from Midland Road Springs. Only other thing - the folding chip catcher is a nice touch but needs to go a bit higher - just bigger ally triangles... The mudguards are crap too, not difficult to replace; cost was about £2.5k from memory.
  16. £52.50 roadside ?
  17. Farma good for occasional use; botex will lift a planet but something like this is better than both: forestry forwarding trailer kesla | eBay
  18. No, the head measures the metreage through it and a stack measure on the lorry x 0.7 for softwood - not the problem; but the biomass chipper and I were talking conversions to tonnage last night and I was in traffic trying to figure (hands free btw) out m3 to tonnes and he was agreeing with my cocked figures!
  19. Understatement. Glad I did this thread, something didn't feel right but my grey matter was dead tonight. Thank you.
