  1. Madness to have only one saw imo. First saw gets trapped, then what?
  2. Aha! Being a softwood man, I rarely experience that!
  3. The pin end is a better option than the angled steel one as it goes under the bark easier yet deeper; as standard on the spencer...
  4. I like that one too
  5. Proper job.
  6. Amazing machine sure but that video misses one very important point! A menzi-muck harvester will cut to length where no other machine will go, wow, now how do we get the wood out?! No forwarder can get there so all the produce is stuck down the ravine! Do'h.
  7. Toro and Ariens are the next best thing here. Instead of using 2-strokes, the pressure lubricated version of the sweet Kawasaki FJ180V is used so can be used on slopes. I had 2 of the side discharge/mulch/bag Ariens, good machines
  8. Spencer Loggers Tape, 3 lengths to chose from, various retailers i.e. chainsdirect online...
  9. Are you wanting 17, 19 or 21" cut? Self propelled I assume? Rear roller or 4 wheels? Viking, Kaaz or consider Ariens... Efco good on a budget but you should be able to get a £900 machine down to £700...
  10. Tanker firm near us has "this tank is full of political promises"!
  11. already in
  12. Dolly 5105 won mate - not directly but by deducing bar length options; 16" on a 550cp slowed it down so like for like dolly wins!
  13. Pretty darn rough here on west dartmoor slopes. Van on its side in supermarket car park earlier... Nuts but cool
  14. I think I got an email from you about this and instantly binned it on the assumption that if it's too good to be true it always is. There has to be something for you in it; that's a whole lot of gear your as much as giving away, what's the catch.
  15. One can roughly deduce therefore that the dolmar 5105 is the strongest in its class - as suspected i.e. 16" @ 27.1 vs 550xp on an inch less at 28.5... And not only that the echo 550 beats the husky 550 like for like. Fair play, echo and dolmar hehe
  16. Look at the state of that chipper! It's a disgrace! Any you have the cheek to blame the manufacturer!
  17. PR Larch can't go for firewood but it can for biomass through the proper channels... Clean larch is THE softwood firewood imo (unless you've got macrocarpa).
  18. Aaah I see, same as me then Ssshhhh!
  19. haha:laugh1: where did you get your dolly then?!
  20. interesting to find another dolmar owner here and echo
  21. second that; the 5105 should beat the 550xp; especially buried in timber... but not 16" vs 13"; put both on a 16 and the dolmar will surely win!
  22. Fibreglass repair kit? Did an oil tank for a tipper trailer proper job; guess it would be fuel proof - like rock once it's set. edit: yes of course it's fuel resistant; had 2-stroke spillages in fibreglass boats loads a times no issues...
  23. Quite. 190 nothing to write home about.
  24. An echo is like a Toyota Avensis vs Stihl and Husq being the BMW and Volvo. The avensis is actually the better car; not as much soul or image but better engineered. Despite this, the image means poor residuals compared to the big leaguers... best analogy imo
