  1. 09 reg club cab with chip-box conversion; barely heavier than original butt but sags with half a load (3.6m3 box so 1.8m3 ish) chip and want to sort out; bump stops about an inch off the chassis. Mate suggested assistor springs as HD leaf springs are £1k job.. Any advice / suggestions? Many thanks.
  2. I've been runinng 20 LPX on my dolmar 5105 since new; are you saying that whilst the bar groove gauge is narrow the cutting kerf isn't? Interesting because I'm thinking of converting it to 3/8.
  3. eurof spec is 18 minimum top u/b for a 3.7 sawlog; used to be 1" deviation per metre but not so sure about that anymore and ample knots are a no. Had a heap of logs last year; firewooded the lot in the end as they were borderline rough and mill rejection was not an option! 3.7m log 18cm+ tdub 4.9m log 18cm+ tdub 4.9m log 30cm+ tdub 7.4m log 30cm+ tdub
  4. That's a small forwarder; lightly loaded my bruunett holds 6m3 (top diametered btw so bang on) of 3.7s or 8m3 of 2.2s...
  5. drive links - drinks must be tired
  6. If you've ordered insufficient drive links don't blame me!
  7. £25+ / m3 for processor size
  8. South yes; South-West no it seems despite the forecast; no drama at all.
  9. and yet PLY city has trees down but nothing here on the edge of the moor. Next doors plastic childs slide hasn't moved 0.7mm!
  10. I actually like that; only fasttrac I ever looked at with any interest.
  11. nothing at all (west devon / east cornwall).
  12. Gotcha; didn't think infected larch was allowed straight into the system. Just finished a clean larch site - fantastic processor roundwood; snapped up putting it mildly. Keeping all the lovely sub 10" DF for myself..
  13. love this pic; awesome
  14. nothing; light rain, absolutely no wind whatsover, some storm!
  15. Agree 100%. Went 50/50 hard/soft this year; I would give up hardwood tommorow if folks would take it but it's going to take major educational effort to get their heads to take it in; the stove shops, chimney sweeps et al tell them they must burn only hardwood
  16. I lost family in the Penlee / Solomon Brown disaster; I will transpose a note from my Uncle about it when I get a minute...
  17. I sell s/w to them so miss out the middle man if you want... Larch and douglas
  18. As per other thread, measuring the bar with a tape is irrelevant, for instance a stihl 16" bar comes up longer than a dolmar 16" one... Your bar has the number of drive links stamped on it - 64; .325 pitch, .050 gauge, comes in a variety of forms, full chisel (28lpx), semi chisel, micro chisel etc... Dolmars bars are shorter irrespective of the official length hence the fewer drive links.
  19. 100's + / week healthy trees cut here. Knock em over!
