  2. Too true mate,i was recently scrambling through some epicormic on an mature lime tree and i got right peed off how many times they got pulled out!!! Thinking of gettin a custom made pair but just cant decide if im willing to spend all that money?
  3. I use a few different lenghts depending on the cord but they usually range from 70cm to 90cm...ish!! haha. Thats on 8mm cord though.
  4. Have u thought of tryin just a lid, glasses and some ear plugs mate? I recently went down this road because i was always too hot. i use the petzl altios helmet and it keeps me lovely and cool. Using ear plugs instead of defenders makes a huge difference too.
  5. Try Suzan Wells mate at leicester she'll sort you out with any queries 01509 815534. Very well run there too!!
  6. We used to always wear hi-flex and then decided to try some stretch airs. That was three years ago and i still have that pair!! Bit tatered now though! haha. The stretch airs are awesome trousers and would not go back to hi-flex's now but the newer ones dont seem quite as good as the earlier models? The gladiator type a's are really good for the summer too!!
  7. Nice work shrek...im really glad i aint your groundy havin to run up and down that bankin all day haha
  8. Glad your enjoying it mick. I use a hitchclimber over my lockjack that i also have. Like buzz says get a rope guide and you'll be flying up them trees:cool1: Like shrek says though your vt looks a bit odd, here's a couple of pics of mine. The one in the pic is tied slightly shorter than i normally have it.
  9. One of the LA that we work for cut down tonnes of street trees and never replant any!!! All that happens is,if the street is bein resurficed then the trees get cut down and ground out and never relpaced. Id say you could count the amount of streets with trees on you could count on one hand. I know we've cleared at least 6 big streets of all there trees. Usually between 10/20 trees on each street. I always ask if there's any scheme in mind to replanting and they just laugh. Jo public dont seem to care either, all i here from them is "its about time they come down,do you know they drop there leaves every year?":crying:
  10. Im gutted i dint make it:angry: Lookked like an awesome show and a good laugh. I was all suited and booted ready to go and then had a family crisis and ended up in mablethorpe moving my cousin into a new house!!...Orrr well always next time:thumbup1:
  11. Im wearing meindl air streams at the min and they are awesome! Very nice to climb and footlock in and quite light! I think there slightly narrower than standard boots though? They fit my feet spot on though! Not sure about how long they'll last, ive had mine about 6 months and seem to be doin fine
  12. That looked an amazing tree to play in!! Even if i had a bucket truck id still be breaking the rope and harness out just to have a play! haha....nice work by the way
  13. Just had a look at it in the classifieds, looks pretty good mate. With it bein an agg trailor do you have to have it LOLER'd?
  14. How much can it lift at full extension and how much next to the trailor?
  15. Evening all,We've recently done a couple of jobs using a hiab and im very impressed in how much faster it made the job go,not to mention the amount of mess it saved! So my question is where and what would you guys in the know recommened to buy or where from? We were looking at one mounted on a trailor because we have access to a tractor whenever we like. We thought about a lorry with one already on but are slightly put off because of tacho's and what not. Also does any one know how much they are to have LOLER'd? Any advice and help greatly appreciated, cheers all Hadleigh
  16. Nice work there mate. Did you have to climb many or could you straight fell alot of them?
  17. One of my prefered saws when climbing is the husqi 372 witha 24inch bar. Its light enough to not cause too much discomfort and has got plenty of grunt!....Before anyone ses anything its the only husqi we have, all the rest are stihls! haha
  18. Not as yet mate, you do have to make sure that there in nice and tight though! I was thinking about getting a pair made especially for my ears, but not talked to anyone who's actually used them and its alot of money to spend if they only last 2 minutes!
  19. Can of coke and a smile:lol:
  20. Here's another job we did last week, was a kids den that we had to take down. Was a shame really cos i thought they'd done quite a good job. They must of been watching Ray Mears and got inspiered haha

  22. Nice work Shrek. Im glad i wasn't your groundie running up and down that banking! haha. Is it weired working without the mog mate?
  23. Haha i dont know what your tryin to suggest about the LA:lol:...Ended up putting one of my men on it who got things goin a wee bit quicker!
  24. VERY SPIKEY!!! haha. Like you say no centre to the tree but wasn't too bad....unfortunatly the truck and hiab aren't ours, they belong to the LA who we did the job for.
