  2. Cheers once again marc its all making alot more sense now haha Looks like im gonna be orderin some new toys this week and having a play about with it. So is the only difference with srt that you use a chest ascender and chest harness?
  3. So what 10mm lines do you guys run? Do you use friction cord like ocean poly or do you go down the rock climbing route? I currently use a cinch with blue moon and it works well but i just feel it would flow better with a slightly thinner rope?
  4. Im hearin you there Mark Bolam! i was chuckin my leg over a branch the other day and my saw flew out its sheath and only just missed slicing my groundy down the face!!!
  5. In my opinion they are worth that bit extra, they last alot longer and feel alot better made! I did like the Hi flex but after so long they just dissintergrate!! Bought myself some type a stretch airs at the AA and there awesome! very nice to climb in to especially with this heat
  6. Cheers guys this is all very helpful and thanks for puttin some pics up. So with the rads do you not need a chest attatchment for your harness Marc? Another question how do you tie the standing end of your rope off? Do you just tie a running bow line or do you use some kind of mechanical aid incase the line needs to be lowered from the ground? Sorry for all the questions but i dont know any climbers round here that use it so ive never seen it in action! Cheers once again....and Eastwater if i am ever in your neck of the woods i'll deffinatly come see you and you can show a dummie how it all works haha.
  7. Evening all, ive trecently been thinkin of getting some srt gear because it seems there's alot of advantages of using it. Such as less energy to gain access to a large tree and also feel it would be good to leave in the tree as an emergency line for an aerial rescue. The only problem is ive never used it and im not sure what gear i would need to buy to set it up and can i do it with a tree motion harness? Also whats the difference between SRT and RADS? Sorry for al the questions haha Cheers all
  8. I use a zubat 330 and a pocket boy
  9. Thats a bleedin shame id of bought 2 pairs for that price!!
  10. There's a few big old weeping willows near me that have had some major limbs fail!! It seems once they hit a certain age they just think sod it! haha Like combined tree seres says if your unsure get someone else in to have a look at it,dont want it failing with all those targets around!
  11. Hmmm quite interesting that, our snap hooks have been LOLER'd many times and he's never even mentioned them? Wot would a LOLER inspector say about u using 10mm rope for an adjustable lanyard because im thinking of doin this myself?
  12. Ive had it!! Its nothing compared to man flu! haha
  13. If snap hooks are't fit for purpose then how come alot of flip lines are sold with them on?...saying that i use 3 ways haha
  14. Ive voted tea but there's nothing better than a cup of strong coffee when hungover!! both with milk and 2 sugars
  15. There airstreams and are really good boots!!!
