    Give it a good clean check chain tension, then carb and tick over setting may be a bit high, then clutch springs

    Don't talk to me about Cam belts The one on my chipper has just broken today And as normal when something breaks it is before we chipped the pile of brash had to cut it all up small on the back of the truck old school style Bet that will cost some to fix now

    You can add me to the list it nearly always happens on big conifers far more waste than you think I priced one job for a day and a half it took two and a half I just bit the bullet and only just covered my costs But like all things some you win and some you loose

    Todays view of the Derbyshire countryside a bit windy and cold but not too bad

    Your best idea is to keep your head down and do the 240 hours don't rock the boat and lose your placement You are being paid to learn as well as do the work so make the most of this and learn as much as you can Maybe don't take your saw & fuel to work and use his ( tell him yours is broken) he should provide you with PPE and equipment that you need to work
