  9. I will use a file guide to get the angle right in the first place, and then the last 2 strokes free hand just to get the best edge Probably totally wrong but it works for me
  10. I try and sharpen my chains each night after work, Just a light touch up or if they are not cutting right then when ever they need it

  14. Its all down to practice I use one of the Stihl file kits and generally it lines up with the wear marks on the teeth You will soon get a feel for sharpening stick with it

  16. Orange Plant also do splitters they work out very good value for a week rather than a day

  22. I think as normal Stevie has hit the nail on the head with his great post He has many a wise word to say. You need to sit down with your Boss and have a chat, But dont fall out over this you sound like you need a job with a young family to feed Untill your little one is older you wont spend much time with them this is the price we have to pay when we go to work, Some days my kids are in bed when I go out and back in bed when I get back
  23. Start small and get a good fire going with some dry stuff once you have a bit of heat built up add the other wet timber try to lay all the ends the same way and use blower to assist
  24. So sorry to hear of your loss, the same thing happened to my Mum 7 years ago She never did get to see her grand children. Chin up and remember the good times you have spent together She will be looking down on you and I bet she is proud of you and your achievements Look after yourself
  25. Nice work as normal Reg I would love to spend a week out with you on jobs like this, it must be a big eye opener Also I think your rigging skills would give me a lot of new ideas as I just stick to basic rigging on my jobs.
