  1. I charge £100 per hectare plus chemical(s) Plif plaf ploof
  2. Even on a dry level site you are going to have to go some with trees that size, and then on top pay £30 per cube.
  3. Large adjustable spanner instead of winch handle, as winch handle was left at home. Worked suprisingly well.
  4. Its the shear plane, that allows the tree to flex in the wind. Sycamores particulary are prone to this, as others have said it is the tension being released. Always good to stop you from becomming complacient when it goes pop.
  5. Why wont they except Lantra, Lantra & NPTC training is the industry standard for proving competence ?
  6. If they pull there finger out i might think about it. But Lantra will soon have refesher couses up and running, that should be cheaper and be more universaly excepted.
  7. AUS poles are by far and away the best on the market, nothing else even comes close. And you can leave them hanging on a 11kv to keep them dry and clean.
  8. I think it is time he did a refresher course. If i was employing him i would want a refresher as minimum, depending on level of competance and experience.

  19. I generally pay between £8-£15 per cube for standing timber. The terrian, quality of timber etc determin the price. I gennerally walk away from one quote in four due to owners over inflated value of timber.

  22. Bumble bees are the quite members of the bee family. Look at it the other way, what a great learning resource for your kids, and it is on your doorstep. Nature is brilliant.
