  1. Thats a mighty claim, we need evidence  But which is more dangerous? A true wheel of death or a spinning table of death.
  2. Ere you go, the spinning table of death. i am cutting logs slower than normal, due to falling of my skateboard yesterday.
  3. I have switched to filling nets with small diameter round logs, less than 4" diameter, as there is almost no snagging, and produces a neater tighter bags. All the round logs are cut using a Browns table saw of death, and provided the blade is sharp, the chance of snagging/ spinning is almost non existent. I use the edge of the table saw for 12" logs, and a sprayed mark for 9" logs. I used to use a stop, but with practice i no longer need it. The logs are cut and tossed into the trailer , where they a bagged up. The trailer is thigh height so all the work is carried out without any bending, which makes the whole process almost enjoyable (ish)
  4. Sounds like the clutch plate is not adjusted properly or worn out.

  10. Common sense and don't fall in. Control measures should include means of preventing work group from coming into contact with deep water i.e. working from rope near edges, barrier preventing falling in etc. I have in my generic risk assessment two ridiculous and farcical sections, and in ten years nobody has ever picked up on them. So does anybody ever read them properly ?
  11. Gurt push
  12. They seem to have. My Scarfells are two years old, and all the stiching is still intact. The Scarfell XCR had issues with stiching, but I think that that it has been resolved.

  18. I would in your situation probably sell the wood standing, but you will need to know what assessets you have and how much you can fell per year Making money from timber is not straight forward.

  21. Have a look at my review of the Scarfell lites, spanking pair of boots to climb in.
  22. Begs the question why do it in the first place? Why not leave it for twenty years and sell the timber standing, and make some money
  23. If landowners stopped murdering hedges every year, then there would be plenty of firewood.
