  1. These are cheaper ! Alubox PROFI 76L - Bags and Storage - Work No idea what they are like though
  2. Cheers for the replys, i am guessing that the consultant has grossly underestimated the amount of chip required. It is for two 60-250kw boilers to heat eight houses, and dry round wood for chip and logs.
  3. Does anyone burn wood chip; if so how much do you burn per month or year, and what size building are you heating. And approx what chip volume does a cubic meter of solid timber produce ? I have been asked to supply timber for chipping, and volume wanted seems very low, hence the questions
  4. I can not believe that nobody has not picked up on the most remarkable thing, A chainsaw operating without a human???
  5. Still like tenex the best
  6. Ere you two bog off with crazy bacon idea's, this thread is trying to pay your wages:D:D:eek::thumbup:
  7. Plenty of room to fell there, if you are worried about hitting the house, tie off the tree so that it can not fall towards the house.
  8. [ame] [/ame] This is the browns one in action, the entry chute needs beefing up a bit, as i reckon it wont last long, given how much it is bending. Combine with a simple log deck you would be able to process smaller diameter timber pretty quickly.
  9. i'll third it, it is one of the fastest seasoning woods, and smells good when burning.
  10. Hello Chris, felling starts next week, can cut to whatever length you want, as stated above it is being sold by the cube. Give me a ring on the above number if you are interested Murray
  11. Liking the Nuffields
  12. 60 cube is for sale road side, with good lorry access, 15-20 cube will be good enough for saw logs. P.M. me or ring 07966 792798 for details.
  13. This hybrid Poplar was planted in 1991, and currently has a timber height of 23m, an average diameter of 28cm dbh, and an average volume of. 61 m3 per tree. Sorry you will have to turn your head sideways, as my phone is misbehaving.
  14. Having worn glasses all my life, and tried all manner of safety glasses, i have come to the conclusion that they make no difference what so ever at keeping crud out of your eyes. Contact lenses and good fitting mesh goggles are the only combination to work. That said i still use the Adco focus1200 rx, which are ten years old, and still going strong. They dont have a website, but here is a link: http://www.thomsonlocal.com/Adco-Optical-Services-Ltd/1258281/01903%20237911/
  15. Thats the ones.
  16. I have found the Tirol boots better for getting in and out of machinery, and the Scarfel boots better for grip. Both have lasted well provided you look after them. Both boots are equally waterproof, but when the going gets wet, break out the wellies. I still have not decided which boot i like the best, and over the years these two have proved to be the best.
  17. For most situations like this i normally work out an average stem diameter, and use that to create the RPA along the woodland edge. I will however make note of any significant trees that are worthy of mention in there own right, and record them individually.
  18. Let us know how you get on.
  19. The concept is really good, but the end product is too small. If the machine could produce 6" minimum, ideally 9" logs, you would have a good marketable product.
  20. Mid Norfolk tractors or Charners in Lancashire
  21. Loverly loverly loverly
  22. Stop Arb Talking, time to get wet.
  23. If you had thrown in black pudding, i would be there like a shot.
