  1. I'm sure if you speak to the assessors they could put together a refresher course to cover the areas you feel updating.
  2. The guy's house and grounds are fantastic, and he's a nice chap too - one of the rare customers that listens to your advice with regard to tree health and the environment etc rather than just instructing you on what he thinks is right! It was a shame the Cedar had to be felled, it was dropping needles into his swimming pool and hanging over his solar panels (see pic of them on the roof of the pool house!) Hopefully got some more work for him later in the year
  3. Depends on the scope of your equipment, with a few kits maybe more cost effective for you to get an inspector in for by the hour/day
  4. Speak to Richard at kingswood training, he did 2 of our guys earlier this year.
  5. Cheers for the advice, all work has been put on hold pending a wildlife assessment around August time.
  6. The mother flew from the roost just as little Joe climbed past the hole, scared the living daylights out of the poor chap! I have been back to inspect and you can see her nestled away in the cavity sat on her chicks.
  7. Depending on who you use I think they also stipulate a minimum capacity the loading bucket is too!
  8. I priced up a Conifer Hedge to Reduce and a Pine to shape last week, we got the job to do the Conifers, when the guys went to do it the Pine had been done - by another contractor!!
  9. Chin up Ian, there are always customers wanting something for nothing! If its happening that regulary add 10% to your original cost then when they barter tell them you'll knock it off, at least they will feel like they have a deal and you'll feel better!
  10. One of my climbers found these tawny chicks about 20 ft up in an Oak tree about 2 weeks ago..
  11. Dont you fancy the job Jaime Bray?
  12. Surely the tirfor is for pulling not "lifting"?
  13. Liam, why not buysome of those reflective stickers you can get for kids bikes and spend your cash on getting your wing sorted!
  14. Blow all the Conifer trimmings back under the hedge "its good to put the nutrients back into the soil as they decompose...honest"
  15. Surely older rakes get shorter in the tooth?... We use Chelwood 32LP's pretty good all round!
  16. My landscape team finished a job today that seamed to go on, and on, and on, and on..........It all went really well, we installed the posts and edgings than the tarmacers came in to do the path and now we have returned to rail it up. An unusual specifiaction, its supposed to look rustic!
  17. Ha - I haddent noticed that Justin!
  18. Perfect conditions, beautiful blue skies...couple of shots of my guys on site today...
  19. Quality as always John.
  20. I've considered planting some trees in my field a few times - normally after spending a small fortune on a planting job! As Stevie said planting trees that may be in demand, I considered some Christmas trees (which variety is another issue) a load of Leylandii to sell as hedging, along with other hedging such as Laurel hawthorn etc then some commercial type shrubs Cornus, Viburnham etc. At least there is an almost guaranteed market there, not much chance of getting 50 people wanting a Pyrus Chanticleer around December!!
  21. Mark, I think most of it was rigged down...chipper had a wash today too, did I mention it was new?
  22. Gutted for you Liam! However its in the name...Look Dented Vehicle
  23. Easy peasy...Cedar setional fell and grind stump.
  24. Good shots, good work dave. All in the time it takes for a big red buss to pass too...
  25. In pics 3 and 4 the digger is there then its gone - did it fall off the edge with the tree?!! Hate it when them ruddy tracks come off PITA!!
