  1. That's why Mick Stockbridge wants a bigger truck. He is no longer prepared to pay the rip-off fees at the Dartford crossing....
  2. Any info on the format for the comp, and different categories etc.?
  3. Please do Steve. I'm very tempted.
  4. Woodpicker, you and me are idiots. If anyone from VOSA logs onto Arbtalk, they will be all over every tree truck like a fat kid on a Smartie!
  5. I'm a great believer in spending money on good kit, but this is taking the proverbial. Nice shape, but for £140 I would want a sensible colour and a built in head-cam!
  6. Happy Birthday Biggun! I'll gift you an early finish on Thursday. If you climb quickly....
  7. For your own ring tone ,have you got 'Duelling Banjos' in your Itunes library, though Stevie?
  8. Mint news Lorry, congratulations to you and the wife mate.
  9. The kickback thing worried me too, as did the bit where he walks past his mates face with the saw. I get the bottle jack thing, but think wedges are effective, and quicker. Time = money
  10. Good post Rob. You learn more when it goes slightly wrong! Like Huck says, sometimes you can hang them like that and dice them up from the tip end really easily.
  11. Have a great trip bro. Can't wait for the pics!
  12. Ballsy post mate. (Sorry:001_tongue:). Hope everything works out ok, I'm sure it will. You seem to have caught this really early, which is great, and your brave willingness to stick it on here might save someone elses life one day.
  13. Littletree I am a big fan of different size ropes for different trees. Try a Blakes hitch instead of a Prussic. Same reliability as a Prussic, but nicer to climb on. My dig about working hours wasn't personal, BTW!
  14. I have worked with Dan on loads of jobs and can vouch for his skills. He dismantled the big Pops that I demanded a crane for! He got a decent time at the climb at Jonesies show as well. Dan, you owe me a pint, and you have spelt Colchester wrong!
  15. Stevo ate his belt watching your Powersharp demo at Jonesies show, Rob. If his ragged keks slip any further down you can see the whip marks on his arse where I beat him to try and keep up with me...
  16. Tree looked bigger as it went on Rob, well done mate.
  17. I didn't say it was £2k, that was a guess.
  18. We weren't so near such a good pub that day!
  19. That was me, here's Stevo.[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxNnWDxifeI]YouTube - Stevo speedline[/ame]
  20. Ash removal on a steep banking today, so we sent the logs down on a zipline to avoid them smashing through a fence and hitting a rather expensive house. Beer o'clock, so Stevo then me took the fast train home....[ame= ][ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXUZJzTwjjA] [/ame][/url]

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
