  1. All good advice above. That and the fact that it’s illegal to work for someone full time on a S/E basis.

Cracking little saw. I’d love one without the lockout button!
  3. You sound like you know what you’re doing mate. I’d bite the bullet and get a 462 or Husky 572. They will both fly with a 20” and wear bigger bars when you need them to.
  4. If you are taking 2/3 minutes to get through a 20cm trunk you need to have a look at your sharpening.
  5. I’m renowned for taking the piss on here, but my earlier comment was dead serious. The lack of professionalism was different level. Yes , I’ve bent the regs plenty of times, and no doubt will in the future. BUT I’ve never put peoples lives at risk the way these clowns did. That could have been my wife and kids driving past at the wrong time just as the stem went sideways. It could have been your wife and kids. That aside, dropping gnarly lumps onto tarmac is a shit-storm waiting to happen. Services? Anyone trying to defend them with shite about ‘time pressure’ or ‘they were just doing what they were told’ bollocks is part of the problem.
  6. Can’t you remember when you topped it then?
  7. I hope everyone and their mother involved was sacked. Everything about that is a disgrace to the industry, even if it had gone right.
  8. PAYE in arb is certainly becoming less and less attractive to employers, and the situation needs sorting, and soon. The amount of ads on here and elsewhere advertising for full time staff on a SE basis is ridiculous. Full time SE is totally illegal. No grey area, it’s illegal.
  9. You think things like this are a good idea after a heavy lunchtime session sometimes.
  10. It’s an Islamaphobes wet dream, that is.
  11. Do it. You’re a disgrace to the forum, Sir.
  12. Lovely little gun, first shotgun I ever fired.
  13. Good luck complying to BS3998 with a pole saw!
  14. Looks great. Is that an old Webley?
  15. Got to agree here. Malta is always great. Also loved Belfast.
  16. I combined two of the last posts and did that on my own once.
  17. Does anyone ever really know the true profit on a job? Can only be 10% of the price.
  18. Excellent stuff again Conor. Busy morning for sure!
  19. Aye, not a bad shout. Must admit my 560 is my go-to saw.
  20. You’ll fit in just grand here on Arbtalk peds, welcome to the madness! I like you already for that comment. My view is that a saw is always second hand for a reason, which sounds obvious, but it’s generally not a good reason. Husky 550 or Stihl 261 are both excellent saws (although both have had ‘issues’ in the past), and that’s what I’d go for in your situation.
