  1. I have a vest you can borrow with 'TREE CLIMBER - AERIAL RESCUE' printed on it. Hi-vis, obviously. You'll be able to spot me, I'll have rigger boots on, and Husky braces.
  2. Nice one mate, glad you like it.
  3. Those Cloggers look awesome Tommy. Will you have them on at the APF so I can have a look?
  4. 'These vagabond shoes....' Sorry Edward, I'll get me coat.
  5. I would have a little sign on the bottom log saying ‘Darwinism begins here’, then crack on exactly as you are doing.
  6. Did you get anywhere with this @benedmonds?
  7. I wouldn’t worry too much lads, it’s not like it will happen in our lifetime.
  8. I do try and do things by the (old) book mate!
  9. Badly thought out bullshit by a load of clipboard warriors Matty. If two ropes and two anchors are called for to make any of my jobs safer you can rest assured I'll be using two ropes. If I judge that two ropes will make any job LESS safe, then I'll be using one. It's my arse on the line up there, not some suit who would be better off spending their time prosecuting unqualified and uninsured hackers.
  10. I hope his neighbours like it as much as he does, seeing as how he's forcing them to have about half of it.
  11. 300m walk down a narrow footpath for access mate. We thought of messing around with the Tirfor, but decided it would be a lot quicker just to man up and get amongst it.
  12. Money fungus has to be top.
  13. You’ll love it mate! Think of the money you’ll save on trousers!
  14. Mick, you know I said I can pick and choose my jobs now? Here’s a selection of today’s beauties. As you can see, high clipping the handle is also useful for keeping the saw out of the drink. Not one snag on my Craghoppers, or old-school Adidas. PPE police please note, this was planned. I packed a towel and spare socks this morning.
  15. More pics in a bit. Mick will love them.
  16. Very useful , thanks Mark. Does that large Caritool not catch branches all the time and subsequently snap or irritate? Pretty rarely mate, never snapped a large one, they’re pretty bomb-proof. I always remove the gate, which minimises fuckonery.
  17. Couple of pics Treerover. High clipped with the handle on large Caritool, and clipped on the lanyard ring. Second scenario I think Dan Maynard is right, the Zubat sheath in the Sawpod offers a fair degree of protection.
  18. No mate, part time now. My wife owns me for half the week! Tend to throw more bodies at jobs to make the most of my tree days, but it's good in that I can pick and choose my jobs and clients to a bigger degree. Having said that I'm cutting windblow out of a moat tomorrow and working Sunday.
  19. Love mine, but I feel sorry for it now because it hardly ever comes out. Feels like a bag of bricks compared to the 2511!
  20. Maybe not so obviously to you Mick! How on earth did you lose one?
  21. It will, and does all day on a Caritool. You'd want it backed up, obviously.
  22. No Mick, primary attachment is via a normal hook. The 540 has both.
  23. You could probably sell them to monied-up recycling-happy trustafarians for about £50. £75 if you throw in the other half as an optional rain cover.
