  1. The Shawshank Redemption The Searchers True Grit Top Gun Where Eagles Dare Love Actually The Deer Hunter
  2. Sorry. I’ll put mine up in a bit. Great thread.
  3. Anal Angels. Fuck my Uncle. Death rape volume VI
  4. I really like the sentiment, but I just think it’s too niche for an app to work. The general public will be unaware of its existence. I really hope I’m wrong!
  5. We are all desperate to drive in to London to get the work Mick. Can you pick me up on your way through from Dover?
  6. I read it that to a climber £30k PAYE with all the trimmings is equivalent to taking nearly £40k self employed.
  7. Hadaway with your sensible comments Mark. We had a good argument building here.
  8. Don't think I missed the MacD's comment you cheeky sod - I haven't been in one for days! You might have done that tree just fine Huck. I might have. Who knows? A lot of trees we are asked to do aren't right, which is why we are called in! I've refused to do shitbag trees that someone else has gone on to do. Some have failed before someone else could do them. I've done trees that others have refused. Sometimes you need to evaluate risk vs. reward. You're not a MEWP fan, nor am I particularly, but we are professionals and I'd call every job as I saw it, and use whatever it took. No point in having a 'bravest paraplegic' badge. That and £3 will get you a cup of coffee.
  9. I've tipped tonnes and tonnes over the years, so there would be a lot of dead horses about if it wasn't safe. A stable lass once told me it was actually beneficial for their hooves, especially if they had laminitis. She might just have been trying to chat me up, obviously.
  10. Badger, you were up the tree, we weren’t. You’re experienced enough to know that when a tree doesn’t ‘move’ right it may be time for plan B. MEWP sounds like a good call. High value targets, gas bottles, LV lines. Not a good situation for a tree to shit itself under loading. ?⚡️???☄️
  11. Quite possible - it’s London! A lot more about the structure of the house and the actual soil conditions than anyone else. The house being the expensive part of the equation....
  12. It’s for Westminster Eggs. You need your own supertanker.
  13. Ben, we know nothing about the situation. We don’t even know if it’s a young tree. A 6/7m tree could have a 5’ dia butt! PI of soil? Age of house? Age of tree? Type/depth of footings? You’re right though, if it’s going to heave it’s going to heave.
  14. It is Mick. You need to involve a structural engineer with experience of these situations Joe.
  15. Hi Dan, I’ve provisionally done a deal with Greenplant (thanks @Pete B!), and was going to run it over to them next Wednesday. Never say never though. They aren’t having it themselves, just punting it on to a dealer up north. PM me if you’re still interested.
  16. Salmond probably wouldn’t be safe from him.
  17. They tried, but they couldn't get through the crowd at the bar buying him a pint.
  18. I banged a 260 running full chat into a retired (6 months?) pair of Hiflex with an oak log in the leg. Kevlar worked, but cut about an inch into the log first.
  19. I hope this gets more and more coverage. The problem, especially in construction, of people getting paid either late or not at all is ridiculous. The problems are normally created by unscrupulous greedy, rich bastards at the top and the shit flows downhill. Anything that can bring about change is a good thing.
