  1. Have you looked at the Stihl Kombi battery unit? Polesaw or hedgecutter, and you can add 1m carbon fibre extension shafts for both. Don’t know how costs would stack up.
  2. 0796B3DF-4280-4BEF-BD98-E3A52149E30E.MOV
  3. 2nd stem of a knackered sycamore from Wednesday. First stem came down in the wind and luckily only clipped the house. Danny Mac up top.
  4. Yes, it would be great if you could report back afterwards. Details of kit, manpower etc. would be much appreciated. So would pics!
  5. I took my DC Tranny on a weighbridge empty a few years back. 2850 including groundie, me, dog and tools. Leaves 650, or as Josh said a couple of m3 of chip.
  6. Good post.
  7. They don’t really work though do they Rich! Just get the Gladiators in Type A, you can justify it on your RA by avoiding heatstroke. I wore C’s for years before realising that if I ever cut the back of my leg I should have a serious think about my career choice. They’re nicer in thorn and jaggy conny tops, but that’s about it.
  8. That’s because those Wark lads are shite at adding up Matty!
  9. I make you both right Don and Joe. A decent climber would be wasted in a tree like that without a switched on and efficient ground crew who are prepared to graft hard. Looks to be a decent area to drop the stem so I’d go 2 days (for 4) including the grind. Plan would be to drop the stem late on the first day or early on the second and get the grinder to work while the butt is diced up and stacked. Hopefully the second day would be a bit of a birthday, but still leave time for a really tidy finish. A pic of someone stood at the base of the tree would really help for scale, we might all be over egging this a bit!
  10. It’s a very good point. You need to be very specific about exactly how the timber will be left.
  11. Maybe someone on Facebook will buy it for the wood.
  12. Let us know how it goes mate. Apparently they have ironed out the sometimes temperamental starting issues with the new model. Still loving my first generation model.
  13. Big trees usually are! Remember none of us have seen it yet.
  14. 3 gardens to rig over as well. Slows things a bit.
  15. Hence the 2 days. You said a decent team could do it in one.
  16. Agree. I would put 2 days on it.
  17. All depends on access like Mick said. Few loads in that stem right enough if it’s going off site.
  18. They can all be felled Mick....
  19. My mate will report the failure of the TPO’d oak this week. Not sure how the ABC Planning Department is functioning at the minute.
  20. We could do it, not keen on the power line stuff though, and the TM it would need. Just seems fair that if a company can do the report and are keen on taking on the work that they get first crack at it.
  21. Easy thicko work is my bag, baby.
  22. I have a long standing customer in Aldington, Kent who has around 6 mature oaks which are TPO’d. One shat itself on Friday and snapped clean off at the base, falling across a footpath. Luckily damage was only minor. He would like a full arb report done on the remaining trees, probably PICUS tests as well. Potential targets include house, garage, road, HV and LV lines. Ultimately he would like justification to reduce them, which isn’t really my bag, so there could potentially be quite a lot of work. Any offers or recommendations of a reliable company to undertake this would be appreciated.
  23. Well done mate, well executed and thanks for the update.
  24. To be fair lads, Cummings should have been arrested a long time ago by the fashion police.
  25. What an idiot. It’s not from London, it’s from Chynah.
