  1. That’s true, but the forces aren’t straight up and down here. Another advantage of a base anchor is that if a fork does tear out there are usually lower limbs or crotches backing you up, which isn’t true with an isolated top tie.
  2. No difference UNLESS you weren't through a decent fork and it tore out at a crucial moment, dropping the rope lower and temporarily putting slack in the system, which would be bad. I've bagged in really high before, set up a base anchor and just cranked the winch until the rope has bust it's way into a decent fork before starting cutting. You don't get greater pull by isolating the fork like your boss says, though.
  3. Badly Khriss. I think my risk assessment of ‘very risky’ didn’t impress them much.
  4. This was my set up mate. I don’t know how the pizza got in there, mind. The system works ok without it.
  5. I know the answer financially Dan. it’s miles away!
  6. Just don’t damage the lines or gear. You will get a massive bill and I would guess your insurance company would get a bit funny. Does anyone know the crack re standard insurance and power line stuff? There is nothing I can see in my policy to say I’m not covered if I muller a 33kv and take out several villages, but I simply don’t know the answer. I have zero UA tickets.
  7. Yes mate. Can’t fault them really, they have been quick and efficient. I should have been more forceful with them at renewal, and made it clear that I expected a TW160 as a replacement, which costs over £13k. I would have been happy to pay more to cover this. Crossed wires, really.
  8. Update on this is I’m getting paid out £7.5k because I stated that was the price of the chipper when purchased new (in 2009). It’s better than a kick in the nuts I suppose, but I’ll make damn sure I’m never underinsured again, and I suggest you all do the same.
  9. Tbh Kev, I can understand blanket TPO’s on development sites, but I think they should be subject to review after development is complete. It doesn’t look like those trees were particularly visible to anyone else apart from people with drones, and they were his trees. A point I think Mick was getting at earlier. He’s still a knacker, mind.
  10. Used to Michael, used to.

Has anyone else noticed that Katie Price always mentions that her new husband is much better endowed than her ex? On the basis that there would have to be at least 1/2” to notice a difference, I’ve done some calculations and reckon the new bloke she’s going to marry must have a 90” cock at least.
  12. I’m with you here Mick. Not a big fan of handing him over to the World Police tbh. In answer to your original question Eggs, I reckon the truth is about in the middle.
  13. He’s an idiot. If he’d done it at night he’d have got away with it.
  14. To be fair, he knew the crack when he built his house too close to trees that had been there for 100 years. It's hardly a tiny plot is it? He's an idiot.
  15. All businessmen are millionaires Mick, it's a known fact. Heartless, tree-hating bastards, every single one of them.
  16. Sorry, didn't realise that it was the van that was dictating the towing weight, my bad.
  17. Is it not worth doing your trailer test?
  18. I would have thought a result was pretty much guaranteed every time? TPO'd tree gone? Guilty. Case closed M'Lud.
  19. It's generally a waste of time with the reg these days anyway. Usually false/unregistered.
  20. I wouldn't have thought you know much about peed control these days mate.
