  1. I know you can spend thousands. The kit I’ve seen is a oner!

    Archery

Anyone here into archery? I used to do a bit years ago. I recently bought the big twin a cheapo kids set, but my internet browsing has bought up several well priced adult starter kits. I’m not looking to do comps or anything, just mess around really. Any tips on draw weights etc. welcome.

  4. Digger would have been nice! I barrowed every stone from a broken wall round that little wood in the distance. The farmer said I was mental and would never do it. We sat on that wall when I’d finished and he gave me a bottle of Grouse and we had a few tins of McEwans Export that Dad and Mam bought out. Happy times.
  5. Thanks Matthew, and Andy. I cheated on the copes and Mucked them on, but the farmer had some big beasts in the field beside the drive at the time!
  6. I built this wall when I was 19. There’s a lot wrong with it (be quiet Matthew!), but it’s still up 33 years later.
  7. I could put you in touch with a mate in Northumberland if you like? Not in your area, obviously, but if you did a week up there with him you’d learn more than a lifetime of courses. Here’s one of his rebuilds from this week.
  8. Charging a few batteries is bugger all compared to the power consumption we expect from their kettle.
  9. Indeed, pretty big batch! Good chance to swap worn out ones for new though….
  10. Certain batch only apparently. @Joe Newton check yours mate, I remember you said you were burning through them pretty quickly.
  11. Just get in touch with Ben at Canopy who supplied his contact details. He’s a good qualified guy and is not far from you.

  13. Speaks the man with an arse shaped like a small tractor seat!

  15. Can’t you just buy one of those and put it in a milk crate?
  16. He could have bought one with your wage.
  17. It would certainly be an interesting case. The press would love it!
  18. Haven’t used one, but seen pretty good reviews of these (from homeowners rather than pros, admittedly), and well within budget. They normally make pretty good kit. I fully support the ethos of what you’re doing as well. Fair play to you.
  19. Fair do’s then J, but I wouldn’t reduce it. I would ‘rollard’ it again, then rinse and repeat every 5 years.
  20. It hasn’t been ‘reduced’ in the past J, it’s been hammered, leaving 30’ pecker poles. It wants putting out of it’s misery.
  21. Wrong Doug. Fell and enjoy the view.
  22. They do know this is pointless don’t they?
  23. Average age of an HGV driver in the UK is now 55. It’s pretty grim when you think about it. Game designers and hedge fund twats cream the big bucks while the people who keep the country running have been put off by crap pay and conditions. Nice one modern world, well played.
