  1. Ah right. I’ve got the Gladiator A’s with zips. If there’s no kevlar there though, how come they are still C’s? Does that not make them type B’s?!!!! I gave up using C’s years ago.
  2. My bad. I know Pfanner don’t do them. I would have thought the kevlar would have made it pretty pointless?
  3. You can’t get ventilation zips on type C’s.
  4. And I’m all set for Appleby now….
  5. I was done by dinner anyway! No access for machine, 2 1/2’ gateway with right angle return and steps. Another 3m trench today, less than an hour with setting out. They’re only for planting, so only about a foot deep.
  6. Got these yesterday. 8’s were too small and 9’s a bit wide, but sorted with a pair of cheapo insoles. Beeswaxed, and used all day today. Pretty comfy, and seem well made enough. Thanks for the help, apart from Rich….
  7. I meant as well as the rods mate. Just as a bit of a ‘goalkeeper’ really.
  8. I’d use a MEWP if I owned one, but I’d climb that all day long without any worries. Like Mick, I’d also consider some Cobra bracing as an extra safety measure. I think a fell would be a bit unnecessary in that location.
  9. Yeah boi! Just want to avoid digging holes in £250 chainsaw boots!
  10. I’ve had this for years. It’s not man enough.
  11. I never used riggers (I hate riggers) shat themselves today during heavy digging in clay. I’m not interested in a boots debate, I need to buy these tomorrow.
  12. Has anyone got any quick feedback on these?
  13. I doubt anything telescopic would be man enough. Something like a Stein Outreach would break in seconds. We just use Jameson poles with this head on, but it’s not exactly a compact set up for moving around!
  14. I hope the lanyard was CE marked.
  15. Errrr, because it’s fit for purpose? Back in the day, Armour Pruss cord wasn’t CE marked, but exceeded every CE requirement by some margin. How couldn’t it be fit for purpose, knowing that?
  16. It’s an age old problem for foresters. Weight is the only accurate way of measuring timber, too many variables in calculating accurate volume in round wood. I fully appreciate your roadside stacks will be decreasing in value as they dry out! Just get it sold asap. Timber wagons can measure the weight loaded.

Nice one! Their online prices seem to be somewhat flexible! Let us know how you get on mate.
  18. I had a tidy up in the garden this morning.
  19. FB ads are properly winding me up. Tree firms from all over the country spamming their shit nationwide. Do I really want a firm in Derby to come and give me a quote in Kent? Not really. It seems to mainly contain bottom feeders who want the job doing that day. £30, cash waiting. The starting gun has definitely gone off on the race to the bottom.
  20. Aye, I’ll switch over now. Good old Ken. I remember him taking over from Terry Wogan, must have been 40-odd years ago! Can’t listen to Coxy, she’s too young.
  21. That’s the way it should be Steven. It seems really unfortunate and unfair that it’s not the way it is. On any insurance job I always make it clear to the customer and that they will be paying me, and then they can claim it back from their insurance company. I’ve weighted invoices in their favour before when 3rd party properties are involved, but there are limits.

Mcveigh Parker. £39 + VAT per sheet, not a bulk order. My mate works for them and would drop them off.
  24. Jesus Christ, an honest salesman!
