  1. Quarter of a mile of conny hedge today. 3 of us, finished by 4.30. I think I might be ill when we do it next year.
  2. I tend to agree Mick, I think Peter Crouch nailed it with his Tweet. You’d probably never get both sets of fans belting out the National Anthem together to show their respect at a better time.
  3. Apathy is shite isn’t it? I can’t be bothered with it personally.
  4. You misspelt ‘pikeys’.
  5. Perfect Kev. This is a bit FB, but sums it up well.
  6. 😂😂😂 I’m pretty sure that was just before you turned onto the A1? I think I was behind you, but I can’t remember really. I was drunk.
  7. Dan, a plant trailer allows for loads of overhang over the rear. It’s totally legal if you tie a filthy hi-vis on to the end of the protusion. I see it all the time. That 146 is a good trailer Mike, worked with my mate today who shifts his Norcar, digger, tracked chipper and 22.5m Multitel tracked MEWP with it. Not all at once! He also has a triaxle tilt that looks very similar to the one above, I’ll ask him pros and cons if you like? Not sure what make. Lead time on some of these is crazy at the moment, so that may influence your decision.
  8. RIP Your Royal Highness.
  9. It’s very difficult to get the washing machine in the pillow case though.
  10. I might buy a harness. If I do I’ll just put it on and wear it round the show so people know I’m a tree surgeon.
  11. That’s all sounding horribly familiar!
  12. Not sure tbh, but it was a big old lump. 4 man lift when unbolted from the floor. Crank handle at the end for when the battery start invariably failed. That was some job for a youth.
  13. They can’t though mate. It will take longer than their term in office so they don’t think long term. It’s a huge problem.
  14. Kev, it started as a bit of gag. Then Clarkson actually got a bit serous at times and pointed out how current policy will kill farming and the countryside as we know it forever. It’s worth a watch. He’s a big, fat petrolhead media whore, but I don’t know a single farmer who doesn’t find merit in the message he is trying to put across.
  15. As a lot have said, we can all tighten our belts on energy use. Trig, RC and Eggs (in another thread) have all mentioned the ‘put another jumper’ thing on, and they’re spot on. Without going too Monty Python, my childhood was in a single glazed farmhouse in Northumberland, ice on the inside of bedroom windows etc. No mains electricity, we had a shitty 3kV Lister diesel generator. That packed in for a whole year when I was 14. We survived. Burnt tons of wood, like. Fucked the planet right up. Best memories of my life, pretty much. My big worry is the commercials. Local pub landlord has a leccy bill of £4k/month. Chillers/freezers/kitchen. He can’t put another jumper on. If it goes to £8k he’s bolloxed, no more pub. It is very worrying in that respect. Everyone saying ‘the government should step in’? Have they really got any power? (No pun intended). If the government tried to tell me how much I was allowed to charge I would give them a pretty short answer.
  16. No 3.5t’s up to the job Bob, I can lend you a golf trolley with more legal capacity? When are you thinking of heading up mate?
  17. If. 😂
  18. They can’t make me drive if I’m pissed.
  19. This isn’t Pornhub Alex.
  20. Bottom feeding pond life scum.
  21. Vermin. They are eating that grass alive.
  22. I’m pretty sure my grandparents ate one once.
  23. They must have had Rolo’s Mick, and Toblerones. They’ve been around for ages.
  24. Just plan your journeys so you don’t have to turn right anywhere, problem solved.
