  1. Ha, no mate! Not this time! I was having a pop at renewable John for his comment that the tenant may have been within his rights to ‘coppice’ the Sycamore Gap tree, and then telling a very business-savvy member that he couldn’t read a simple contract. Maybe my tone was rude, but I wasn’t trying to drive him away from the forum, he has generally added to the site with decent input. 👍
  2. The very same. I’m pretty sure the decay wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be.
  3. Arborventure crew , Jo Hedger.
  4. We can only speculate at this point John. It doesn’t seem to stop you spouting shite recently like.
  5. I doubt the police SOCO’s would have been crawling all over the place if this was the case.
  6. Bullshit.
  7. Like?
  8. You don’t get it Alex. My Dad pointed out that tree to me 45 years ago. If you don’t believe how much this means to the community up there head up to a few local pubs with that opinion and see how you get on.
  9. Those of you who aren’t from up there won’t understand. Whoever did this will have to leave Northumberland forever. They will get punched in the face every single time they go for a pint for the rest of their lives. There is simply no excuse.
  10. JCB will insure your chipper. Direct Line are insuring tippers again and I got a good deal with them.
  11. Always best to err on the side of rude though, saves confusion later on.
  12. Windy spot there man. It was windy as hell last night.
  13. There were no targets near the Kingston Lacey tree, it could simply have been cordoned off. I remember Jeremy Barrell was furious.
  14. No one gains anything though. It’s not like there’s some greedy property developer waiting in the wings.
  15. That’s deeply sickening. There are some truly mentally unwell people about.
  16. That’s brilliant. Think how eco-friendly that really is compared to the modern electric car shite.
  17. With titchy saws a thinner oil is usually best, and Stihl is usually pretty thin so that’s probably a good shout. I bought Mam a cheapo mini saw for busting up pallets etc. from Amazon. £50 inc charger and 2 batteries. It doesn’t even have an oiler. I just drizzled Co-Op veg oil onto the bar and told her to do that before every session. My 9 year old daughter thought it performed ok, in her safety sliders. IMG_8384.mov
  18. Ouch Doug! Get back on those stretches! Cobra! Great day subbing for Mark Broadley with the loader on a nasty lombardy wedged in a corner of a garden with a long drag. Ross Smith climbing. All brush dragged with loader, and flopped the butt with it as well with a 2:1.
  19. Is the saw running ok?
  20. I enjoy watching the women’s game Mick, but even Connie (age 9) knows it’s totally different to Prem level, and never will be. The BBC don’t seem to grasp that.
  21. I’m going to set my daughter on you Mick.
  22. Weren’t you a Commander in one mate?
  23. If it’s for proper tree work there aren’t very many companies to choose from, so a broker seems a bit like adding expense for no reason. Also for real tree work you won’t be able to get PL without getting EL as well.
  24. Bloody cheat is wearing 8 foot ascenders.
