  1. Should be a good watch, never knew Dean was traveling that far for work these days.
  2. Thats my take on it John, i class my self as a tree surgeon now, i have cs30/31-38-39-40-41 stump grinder and chipper, and have reasonable day to day working knowlage of trees(nothing like you or monkeyd, tony s etc) but enough to be able to give good sound advice, i am also doing ISA cert arb so when i pass that i would class myself as an Arborist, Jo public dont give a **** though, i go to one property and get called the wood cutter!!!
  3. Blazing saddles.............best bit is where the black sheriff has the gun to his head and says "one wrong move and the nigger gets it" class
  4. I quite agree with a lot of what you say Dean but you just cannot beat the system, also remember if you send your lad to collage they will at some point i imagine inspect you as a business, LOLER, PL,EL chipper etc. I had a lad contact me last year asking for a bit of casual work, no probs i said cash in hand the odd day now and again, was only fetching and carrying not using any machinery, didnt tell me he had enroled at collage and i had to give him a min of 3 days every week! i only found out when askham bryan called me to book an appointment to inspect me!! cheeky little git.
  5. Hate the moden films, total crap in my opinion, all action and explosives and no story, my favs are the older ones, goldfinger etc
  6. I have it, got it through my financial advisor, You have to be careful, some have so many clauses in there policeys there not worth having. mine is quite expensive but its quite good aswell, for sickness they pay out after a month at 1200 quid untill i can return to work (this is pretty standard) i aint really bothered about that part but for accidents they pay out from day one until i can return to work AS A TREE SURGEON, some will say untill you can return to work, that could mean as a trolly colector for tescos! but mine is specific as a tree surgeon, (think to a max of 2 years) no hight restrictions either. i got it for the accident side really but like ALL insurance companys there there to make money and check every word before taking any think out.
  7. I did hear on the old grape vine Mick that your a bonzi tree surgeon in real life:001_tongue:

    CSCS cards.

Doing mine this Thursday, cost me 41 quid for the test and card, am sure it will save a lot of bother in the future, My bro is a director of a big firm in London and he says its going to get tighter with a strick no card no work no matter what you do policey!
  9. Dave, i aint a mower man either but i have used Hayters a bit (and sold a few) the 48 is more popular but there all good, if it's in good condition i reccon on about 100-150 quid, if its a minter 200ish Ian.
  10. Dont see why not, some people use em instead of top handles in a tree. You need something light, powerful and easy to work with so i would say there ideal for carving small stuff. and there cheap if you pack it in.
  11. Some guys i know are using ms170s with carving bars on, know bugger all about it to be honest but thought i would pass it on.

    lady drivers

Spot on Tom, my Mrs did 3k of damage to our car last september as she drove through the village cos a money spider came down from the sun visor, wiped out a 2 day old ford ka as well. whats even worse is now they let em fly planes and give em guns in the army:scared1:
  13. I juat done the chipper ticket, a bit boring when you have been using one for a while but i did it to cover my ass in this ever increasing world of H+S. I doubt you will get it for 100 quid though. i gonna do the chapter 8 one asap aswell. I would do the chipper one first as its what you use the most.
  14. You could always do the tech cert and sell poppys on a part time basis:001_tongue:
  15. What price can you do a 200t or 338 for inc vat and delivery justin?
  16. Yeah fair play, tell us later when you get the job.
  17. Never mind, we all make cock ups. get a white handled one when that falls apart:001_tongue:
  18. i would say 12-1300 quid. Go on then Mick tell us what you have quoted for it..........
  19. I buy poppies aswell, but i don't get a say who it helps and i aint really bothered either as long as it does help someone. if someone hard working get's help to further themselves in this day and age good on em, theres plenty of ex cons and drop out's that get help of the goverment (out of the tax payer like us) so why not an ex servicman? i would try and get funding and pay for the rest of your tickets out of your own pocket.
  20. Why not Mick? i would, there again i'm a tesco's man..............every little helps!
  21. Glad for you ben, just wish i could have the same luck!
  22. Yep, thats one hell of a reduction! why have they left the fire wood still standing.
  23. dont worry eyes are for the pred mate, dont want to hire it, just want a play with it.
