  1. sorry to hear about the chipper, I DO know what it's like and how you feel! hope you get it back.....
  2. i'm not far off York, not really been out of the village yet but it dont look too bad, you will have more probs getting over the tops i think.
  3. A good one goes for about 1500 quid, were quite good in there time so i'm told, ring Lucy up at arboreaters she will tell you what you need to know as it was her dad that started making them. some spares are still available i think.
  4. My brother is operations director for a large commercial builder down london way, called me last week to tell me a story. He got called in to deal with a problem at one of his sites, a brickie on the 11th floor needed a dump, so instead of going down 11 floors, 200yd walk, que for 5 mins outside a porta bog he went up 2 floors where no one was working and had a crap in the corner, he didnt know he was caught on security camera, so graphic you could see the steam and pee marks on his overalls so my bro said, fired on the spot and cost a fortune in clean up costs. They are going to be penthouse appartments, he had a crap in some ones front room:scared1: lol
  5. Groundie cleaned and sharpened the saws one night and thought it would be funny to put a chain on backwards! got in position next day fired the saw up and for a few seconds wondered why a 200t went no where when it was spot on the day before:sneaky2:
  6. :thumbdown:Had a husky can, wasted more fuel than the saws used, binned it and did the right thing.....got a stihl no probs now.
  7. i would say no you don't as people should not be straying off the path, if you block it and they have to climb over things then thats a different matter. i'm not a legel expert so don't hold me to it but thats the way i see it, If you need insurance just because some one goes in your yard that should'nt be there can you imagine the amount of insurance you would need for every day life.
  8. Thanks Dean, i did that as i rememberd you mentioned that a while back, i want to set one off in the garage but im a wimp lol looking at other booby traps at the moment, smoke granade etc...gonna get a bit like caddy shack this lol
  9. I don't believe it, as most on here know i have been turned over twice in 6 weeks, 1 chipper and then all my kit and saws, it's Leeds again! insurance not paying out either. i,m afraid were just going to have to nail everything down and totally review out working practices and security, i have got the place almost sorted, Steel boxes, wheel clamps, alarms and 12g alarm mines! like fort knox now and a real pain in the ass but thats what were going to have to do. hope you get the kit back, if i can help any one round here shout, i aint got a load of spare kit but if i can help i will. what firm was it that got turned over, just nosey but i will help if i can Ian
  10. Been selling em for ages mate, must be 18 months since i first sasw em at beds and quilts!
  11. bought loads of ebay, most of the time with no problem, got a few this week, 1 was a bit iffy but i got it spares or repaire anyway. 390 with a blown top end for 100 quid, 70 for a non genuine pot and piston and it will be a belter. you have to remember what your buying, 130 quid for a stihl chainsaw is bugger all thats spares or repaire money anyway. look at peoples feed back too.
  12. Just wondered what size bars you lot are running on various saws. whats the optimum for a 440 and 660? at the moment i got a 20" on the 44 which seems about right but whats the best for the 66? was thinking a 25" but is this a bit near to the 44 or a 30" but will the 66 pull this and have plenty of power? your thoughts guys Ta Ian
  13. work is getting a bit tight, building sites round me a closed, also clients are watching the pennys a bit more, losing jobs for 20 quid now, but thats life i guess, have to go and start flogging me arse on stree corners.....
  14. a couple i use quite a lot- got more chance of shittin in the queens handbag! more chance of gettin a W..k of the pope!
  15. What you need to watch out for aswell is that it's not only VOSA that do the inspections, the police have taken on the role too, so they stop ya check ya truck over and then get you on the carriers licience:sneaky2:
  16. i caller the them up, told them what i did and they said yes you need one, got one for 150 quid for 3 years aint worth the hassel or a fine to be honest.
  17. I am in the new year when it runs out, going there for tipper/chipper insurance aswell
  18. As most of you will know over the last 6 weeks or so i have been turned over twice by thieving gets, well i have been done again, this time legally by the insurance company. My tools which amounted to about 7k new prices are not covered, even though it says unlimited buisness tools on the policey, theres a get out clause that says buisness tools are office equiptment (lap tops, pc etc) unless notified. I am fighting this decision but don't hold much hope of a pay out, and the loss adjuster was sooo anal about it, could of put her through the chipper to be honest. check the small print or they will have you! Royal sun alliance is the company but there all just as bad really....... at least Dick Turpin worn a mask when he robbed ya (she didnt think it was funny)
  19. Stihl for me too, i have nearly caved in a few times with husky and echo but i just dont have the bottle. Also it's the parts thing for me aswell, i have a mid 90s jonsered, 60cc good saw, well made, powerful but been waiting over 3 weeks for a piston now, even an older stihl you can get parts in 3-4 days and theres loades of dealers.
  20. fair enough Steve, all common sense stuff mate, is it ok if i test ur softwear out to see if i can get some naughty words past it.........
