  1. Yep, by definition, a tracked machine will reduce dragging and the "chip back in" factor is a huge bonus, it's what tracked machines are all about
  2. Its fronted by tree surgeons insurance so your details are pretty safe, cant say you aren't going to get a ton of spam though:laugh1:
  3. You would need more than a motor. To convert away from PTO you would need a motor and pump and probably some pipework changing as well as some bracketry and suchlike. The price you cite doesn't seem out of the way to replace the heart of the machine.
  4. Unless its wet and muddy, then you will wish it had a winch
  5. The belt will have numbers on it for width and length, get a new one from a belt supplier, better yet, take the old one off as a sample and get 2. Store the new one in the engine bay so its to hand in case
  6. Good plan but be careful what you read into that
  7. Hire it????? Marker it as a service direct to the punter Not so much the chipping service but the stump grinding will probably have some legs on it
  8. With a 20" guide bar please
  9. Unfortunately not
  10. Well yes and no, as a general principal that's correct but as a statement its a bit blanket and that's a bit dangerous. As a general principal you are responsible for your actions (duty of care) and this case in point is a good illustration. Leaving aside issues such as statutory protection, lets assume the root removal is within common law, is it acceptable to then leave the object in a dangerous condition? Well provided the other party had served the tree owner of their intentions, and allowed time for the prudent man to act, I for one don't think the average beak would find issue. Its what "putting on notice" is all about. Saying nothing and doing the cutting while the neighbour is on a beach somewhere would be viewed in a different light. So, allowed to remove the encroachment while exercising your common law rights, yes certainly. Allowed to leave the object in a dangerous condition? Well, "duty of care" ........ Discuss
  11. I like plugs, particularly for the summer time, had a site H&S bod collar me questioning the SNR value. I showed him what the pack claimed, he wanted to know they were fitted properly and asked for proof of training in same. Off site to get it for him and kinda forgot to go back, it was only a 30 minute job ho hum
  12. Oops wrong thread
  13. Whatever you do, remember the danger of the current trying to run to the tipper battery from the vehicle battery. Problems can be avoided with a split charge system or a simple diode, best of all is to disconnect the wire for the charge system, before operating the tipper

  18. So no roof downgrades tent to a hammock?
  19. If it were several months (read a reasonable amount of time) after the event and you had notified the land owner giving them a reasonable time to act, then the law wont have much issue In the eyes of the law its all about reasonable
  20. At least they got new shirts out of the job
  21. In order for it to be theft, that would be permanently deprive. This means you should remove your trespass by arrangement with the offended party. If you just go in and take, that's trespass
  22. Looks like a remake is on the cards:laugh1:
  23. Hmmmmmmm Cant imagine why you dad a problem then:laugh1:
