  2. Check the axle case breather isn't blocked, its not unknown for the pressure to push the plastic caps off particularly the pattern part ones that don fit too well
  3. Before anyone can make any recommendations we need to know what you intend to use the winch for
  4. they also say "if you can read his, thank a teacher":laugh1:
  5. So carting logs and chip is covered under this??????????? Materials are for incorporating into the job and equipment is for doing the job Like Pete says, the CPC thing is hardly onerous but what the hell, lets just waive the "tree surgeon general exemption" at it.

  9. No mate, he is in Scotland, they don't have electricity all the time up there so they have to get in when they can:laugh1:
  10. Now that's something I am going to take exception to, I really don't like it when people pee down my back and tell me its rain The only thing Stihl have at heart is profit, that's what this move is about, they only care about our interests where they have a bearing on profit You keep singing the company mantra if you want I wont be listening
  11. Mate you are on a hiding to nothing here. As far as reporting dealers goes, I did, they sent me a hat and my local dealer is still as bad as ever.

  14. Nothing confusing about it, its tom2020
  15. Its not too difficult but why not just buy a 6 toner?
  16. Indeed it is a bandit, no mistaking those triangular tanks I don't know about that rusty turd from Solihull running but with a little TLC, that Bandit would be a going concern again. Needs that's nasty little poverty specification engine swapping for something better though
  17. Pretty sure that's not a Greenmech, that vintage Greenmech weren't Greenmech they were Turner, or better said re badged Ganadini
  18. One did and the fur flew
  19. Quite right, the rubber is held firmly from the other side so they just don't work loose. Using locktite (Other brands are available) will only make someone's life difficult in the future
  20. At a guess. That's where he bought it from
  21. I didn't realise that:laugh1:
  22. Wot, you mean its nicked??
  23. Haven't been able to buy cheap tractors for several years Oppp North tha knows
  24. They don't make them like that any more, once upon a time they would have had enough meat on to skim them but its largely not done any more. The main problem with skimming is that you can run out of adjustment with the brake mechanism which is going to give you brake fade as the drum heats up leading to next to no brakes just when you need them most. The other factor is expediency. If you are in no rush dropping them in at an engineers whilst passing for him to do at his leisure is as cheap as you can get. If on the other hand you have to send a man to drop them off and say "I want them back by the end of play" you are in a different price league. Commercial garages are often reluctant spend a punters money that way Delivery of new parts from a motor factors is just a phone call away and if there are any come backs they just return the part to the factor whereas if its something you had modified (skimmed) the buck stops with the garage Its a combination of expedience design and ass covering
  25. The problem is that the drums don't rust all over, you can clean them up but if they are pitted there will be differences in the grip which will give a pulsed reading on the brake test, running it for a while can fix this but clearly without an MOT that's not an option. New parts cost money but so does a re test
