  1. Fully qualified For what? Most people use that to describe a hand full of NPTC's
  2. I like the way you roll
  3. Have you tried it???
  4. Now that's my kind of diet, you have to die of something so it might as well be a heart attack:thumbup1:
  5. Got a cold, lemsiptastic at 2am
  6. Needs to get out more
  7. Not a chance, its probably more than 3500kg empty and even if it weren't you wouldn't have any payload left
  8. Anything over 3500kg needs to be on an operators licence, this means you need somewhere to park it (that's not your drive or the public road, a maintenance agreement, funds to runt it etc etc Other than that its a good bus IF the cab isn't rotten, and it probably is....
  9. No problem, in hindsight I would add that the fact that you are considering this type of work means that you believe it to be within your abilities and with your age and experience that assessment would be pretty accurate. My advice would be to find a contractor who will give you a volunteer day or two. See how you feel about tree work when you have had a day dragging brash, mauling timber about and have been fishing sawdust out of your crackers. Its not all glitz and glamour.
  10. Very in as much as you will find it difficult to get work without at least some of the more basic ones Not really, you will be qualified but inexperienced Some employers will consider some of them mandatory (H&S standpoint), what's more important and will affect your pay scale is ability and experience There are a number of colleges that churn out "qualified" people by the dozen but qualified doesn't mean able That's going to depend on your ability, area and pay expectations but in general its not impossible. You will be a no (arb)experience newbie and that will be reflected in your pay, more so in the private sector than with a local authority or similar larger organisation.
  11. The other week I caught a couple of herberts nicking wood out of my trailer, caught red handed one of them offered, "its OK mate we are only nicking the wood and not the trailer" Like I should be grateful!!!
  12. Course you can, show us your boobys:laugh1:
  13. Well that's not better that's worse, my Saturdays are worth more to me and if you are paying staff to do the training its going to cost more than a week day.
  14. Don't forget to factor in the wages and lost earning during that training, if you have 3 staff who can drive it can add up.
  15. You didn't need a medical to keep your licence but you do need it for the category to remain valid. You can take a medical and get the category back at any time. Same goes for CPC, you don't loose the category but as a commercial driver you need it to work.
  16. You only need the driver CPC if driving is your profession. If you are a tree surgeon who drives a truck in the course of their job you don't need it.
  17. This is the part you highlighted I say what most inc you don't have the bottle to say I cant see in that where he claims to know what others are thinking
  18. He didn't say that, he said he speaks his mind where others wont.
  19. Some of that stuff is 30 inch plus. Made the fingers tingle a bit:thumbdown:

  21. I like those for a re direct but I will be staying with my pinto rig for the main anchor.
  22. That's the worst weed concealment ever Ignore it, or go nick it depending on your lifestyle
  23. Its a girls excuse for not being able to sharpen a saw properly. These gadgets de skill you. Learn to live without it because one day you might not have it and you will be stuck with a file and a blunt saw. Full chisel chain is naturally more aggressive than semi and has a natural tendency to kick more than semi so its not likely to be the gadget that's causing it. I cant see Stihl's lawyers allowing them to market an implement that makes kick back more severe.
  24. Nope that can all be done with the motor in the car and none of it is rocket science, it can also be done with a modicum of skill and tools
