1. As a trailer it will have a MAM Those pictures are a bit unclear on the iPad but the weight plate ought to have 2 axle weights and a MAM Those tyres look to be on split rims which for that size wouldn't be unusual. They don't look to match but that could just be the picture quality Assume the brakes will need a complete overhaul and a set of new tyres and bid accordingly
2. It's unlikely to be GVW because it's a trailer not a vehicle. What's the item number

Gout

I don't worry about much but gout and the idea of giving up steak in blue cheese sauce fills me with dread.
4. Here it is Tool Karabiners
5. I think it's a good thing, it gives the competitors that real world feeling and adds the "Darwin" factor I am assuming that the lack of reported death and mayhem means the event went off without the offend in limb causing any real problems ?
6. That's just the kind of knows nowt speculation that should be avoided. The kind of heat needed to cause a material change in any friction device would melt the rope long before the device became a problem
7.
Can't do that date but I can do April 1st if that's any good to you

8. He said petrol you said fuel The rules for petrol and diesel storage are different
9. You are either using it inaproriately or you need to take a long hard look at why you are having so many severe accidents.
10. Even IF you have both hans on a top handled saw you still don't have the control over it that you would have over a rear handles saw. For those that weren't around or have forgotten, the top handled saw thing came about because of several accidents specifically where climbers leaving the tree couldn't resist nipping a few bits up with a top handled saw. The HSE rattled their sabre and said if you can't be trusted with them we will legislate against top handle saws. This was largely an empty threat because the cost of raising primary legislation to ban top handled saws would have been prohibitively expensive. The HSE preferred option is to get an industry to regulate itself and that's what they did. The saw manufacturers agreed to sell top handle saws only to those who could demonstrate suitable qualification. The HSE do still have the option of prosecuting anyone injuring themselves or allowing others to injure themselves
11. Full of what? Logs, probably Water probably not
12. You don't think these scrotes use cars that can be traced back to them do you????? They do this for a living. The price of security is eternal vigilance, and having somewhere to get rid of the body
13. The V8 burble will always put a smile on your face
14. Quite the contrary Better than some of the "wet behind the ears" youth, many of whom firmly believe that the use of a smart phone on at intervals of not less than 3 minutes is a human right.
15. You have a point but there is no guarantee it would get ripped in two, it could well let go in which case the saw would be better off on the lanyard, ya pays ya money and takes your chances. Best is to plan the works better
16. The tear away lanyards are designed to give up before your rope system or anchor point does. I have seen more than one saw ripped handle from barrel by an old school full fat lanyard. Not a good place for the climber to be. Best to clip the lanyard to the tree if there is a chance of the timber taking the bar with it.
17. Back in the day when the 076 was a front line saw they came up the tree regularly. Old school cool
18. HA ha I once reversed a LHD forward control through a drive in
19. Would an arborist be called "earache" then?
20. Having put a couple of tippers together Your tipper kit is going to cost you about £300, the ally boarding is going to be about £600, a couple of hundred for the sub frame and floor materials. A couple of days to fabricate it all and put a bit of paint on it That price from Nene isn't cheap but the material costs are considerable, they have overheads and they are entitled to a bit of profit You can find yourself a mate with a mig and have a go yourself Have a look at http://www.servicemetals.co.uk/‎
21. That's a bit sweeping, any reason why?
22. Mine certainly likes the choke more than the other brand
23. I have seen that advert for Berrocca Arb is clearly way harder, you forestry types are all splashing about on floating logs and stuff like that.
24. Think about it, if it were doable why don't you see many more people doing it?
25. The chassis cab weighs a shade over 2000kg, put tipping gear and a body on that, add a couple of blokes and some saws and you wont be far short of 3000kg So 500kg of payload +/-. Good luck getting them to down rate that for you. On the up side the cab may be a bit lighter because of the bits that have rusted off it:laugh1:
