  1. Well its all a bit sketchy isn't it, the thread starts with "There appears to be", put a bid on it if you like but have a care, if you win they will expect you to pay on time.
  2. And yet he managed to (allegedly) get his hands on a dodgy card and figure out how to use it:confused1:
  3. Can I just point out that when the auction ends if you are the one with your hand in the air you are liable for the hammer price and the seller can take legal action to recover it.
  4. Put mix oil into can, add petrol at pump. Simple no mess, no fuss.
  5. Have you tried welding one? I have. Its high mag and just wants to be a silver puddle, there is a load of oil and crap in the crack where the wall has worn through, and its going to twist like a bugger when you get it warm. How much do you recon its going to cost to weld it? Even as a cash job it would be 20 or 30 quid and a new one is a tenner more. Oh and getting it hot wrecks the plastic cover
  6. I have tried fixing front handles, because I don't like to be beaten by an engineering problem or spend money. The only one I had any lasting success with was on a round section where I managed to sleeve it.
  7. Alloy is a denser medium than GRP. IF you could get it to bond you would need a big ugly dollop to achieve the same strength, and the tube is worn.....
  8. Not by your average blacksmith, the tube is worn, see the lines where the folded tube has worn through to separate both walls and a nice fracture right across it? Its a worn out part and fixing it will be less than perfect for the sane price as a new part
  9. Its alloy mate, its soft and the rivets will work loose, trust me, I have tried it
  10. Blacksmiths forge mild steel and that's a high magnesium aluminium alloy, you can weld it with TIG but its tricky and would probably cost the same as a new part
  11. Mend it with a new one
  12. I have the sirrius in 12mm and 16mm The 12 is light and easy to handle, more often than not I use it wit a Pinto Rig pulley. Makes for quick smooth work If I were you I would go with the 12mm
  13. A bit over budget but an excellent choice Sirius 12mm Bull Rope | Clark Forest : Rigging Ropes
  14. Couldn't agree more, the paperwork alone is a nightmare.
  15. No prisoners, big top out first then you can take a bit more time with the rest
  16. If I have a bit of cross cutting to do I like to listen to a bit of Rammstein on the iphone to make me forget how miserable my life is:laugh1:
  17. You are going to need a bridge to come south, we are going to chisel you off and wind you out towards Norway with some acrow props:laugh1:
  18. Yup, the more you cut off the less likely it is to go over. I wouldn't be taking any prisoners though.
  19. A well aimed chunk of branch is a good attention getter.
  20. That's going to be a problem for all trading partners in all industry. We wont let them have the Pound and the Euro wont have them either so they will be back to painting their faces blue and bartering for the things they need. Its going to be murder keeping change for a sheep when they come to pay a bill.
  21. It wont have any effect on the UK industry because Scottish tree work would be outside the UK. We will go on as before, the scots will have to sort themselves a currency and various standards for tree work
  22. I re sat the CSCS test a while back (quickest way to replace a lost card and I needed it by the end of the week), the CSCS people mentioned that BALI were the "green industry" option so I gave them a call. BALI said the person that deals with this isn't in today or tomorrow and you have to fill in a form and send it in. I called back CSCS and had my card the day after. Get your finger out BALI.
  23. He managed to blag the cops, the "on the way back from a trade show" is the standard line for fake or hookey goods your money would probably have bought you a nasty Chinese built saw worth about 35 quid with a fake badge on it.
  24. An "airshelter" is an expensive thing to have around the sharp and pointy world of tree work
  25. You would be doing the landowner and his agent a service by helping them prevent on going breaches, that they may not be aware of but could be prosecuted for.
