  1. the internet says 1.00 AUD = 0.552145 GBP so £275.00 to £440.00
  2. No but a tree can have a single owner and a neighbour suffering trespass Not a very good comparison. That wold be a built structure with ownership and duties (usually enshrined in the deeds), how about if a wall falls onto the neighbours garden, do they become joint custodians?
  3. No but I don't think its needed There is plenty on trespass and encroachment is usually handled that way.
  4. My bad, you didn't say that but that is the quote you were defending. The point stands that there isn't a precedent that says that but there is loads of precedent for the trespass option
  5. So when you said What you meant was, in the opinion of the author of this book, which while acknowledging the mans depth of knowledge isn't quite the same thing. Its not safe to call it law unless there is a direct case law to support
  6. Kind of answered you own question there
  7. Why are you wanting to strip the saw down that far? Getting the clutch off is usually done by using a piston stop, which involves having the barrel on the saw Your clutch looks like it needs a tool of some sort
  8. Any citations for that?

He has found life extremely difficult since the incident and continues to suffer both mentally and physically. Apparently so, must have been a bit grim.

You couldn't be more wrong. First off this wasn't a whole tree chipper or he would be dead, you were talking wtc weren't you?????? Second, the reason he is alive is probably more to do with it not being a large machine and less to do with the reaction speed of his mates. He simply wouldn't fit so once the machine had got as far as his shoulder (a matter of seconds) his mates had all the time in the world to shut the machine down. Third the reason he became injured is It also failed to follow published guidance on the control measures required when using wood chippers. That sounds suspiciously like the chipper wasn't fitted with the current HSE specification in feed protection device http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/ais38.pdf Here is a bit of reading on how the HSE views lone working http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg73.pdf So once again where did you get this impression that we let (particularly foreigners) engage in dangerous lone working on these many whole tree chippers that we just don't have??????

What evidence of this do you bring for me to refute for you?

Not per se but there is a hand fed chipper qualification that's more or less mandatory because the HSE (OSHA) says so. Who hand feeds a whole tree chipper, do you have men that can drag whole trees?

WTF? Where did you get this impression? It doesn't need refuting because it only exists in your head Have you ever been to the UK? How many whole tree chippers do you think there are in this country? I haven't a clue myself but most of us can go for months without seeing one.
  16. I don't suppose a great deal would come of it if you were just removing the epicormic growth from around the base but technically it needs an application.
  17. Yes but you should make an application
  18. Looking as an outsider. A casual chat at break time and he didn't object, but then again he didn't say he was fine with it did he. You changed the status quo and just because someone else is fine with it doesn't mean everyone else should be.
  19. Mine is just fine, no problems with bar or chain. The paintjob is OK but the writing did rub off in under a week
  20. If the corrosion were obvious it would have come under loose or dangerous body parts I have had trucks fail on corrosion to air tank straps.
  21. You can laugh but I did an inspection for a LA once and one of their guys had used a round file to put three notches down the spine of several brand new biners:confused1:
  22. Get a company in to do the TM for you
  23. Just my thoughts on the Snap On I have a small mig built by cebora a mate has the same set badged by BOC but with a Cebora plate on the back Another mate has a Snap On mig badged snap on and plated Cebora They are all the same machine but the snap on one was more than 3x the price of the others. These the reason you get a lifetime warranty, its because you paid for 3 machines at the outset.
  24. That may be true BUT if the marking is done properly you wont be outside LOLER
  25. That's different tree, what you call a sycamore isn't what they UK calls a sycamore
