  1. When you say manual do you mean the service is on a lever rather than a button or have you bought a trip loader:confused1:
  2. Its been around for a while on bigger machines
  3. Twas ever thus Banging out the chaff screens is (should be) an hourly occurrence at harvesting time.
  4. And where....
  5. How do you recon that then? Its either fit for or its not. Perfectly black and white
  6. I get that and the fact that employees might get handed duff kit to use but I don't know how you would go about defining who could get a pass I bet the man from VOSA has a laugh when he has to MOT his works van:laugh1:
  7. Learn how to handle ropes properly and treat them with respect In a job where what happens next could hurt or kill you, try to know what happens next
  8. Well they are thinking about people like you, and not in a good way:thumbdown:
  9. You have to zoom out a bit Tom LOLER is waaaaay bigger than arb, we are just a tiny speck caught up on the edges of it. LOLER is there (Europe wide) because some people think shoddy kit is OK
  10. It isn't just that though is it, they will be checking out where you park it in the dark of the night because, well you might have left the swag in the garage.
  11. Well if you write tree surgeon down the side of your truck people of a nefarious nature are going to draw the conclusion that you might just own a chainsaw or two, maybee a chipper but whatever you have it might be worth stealing.
  12. So you cant use the agricultural exemption for fuel because you aren't engaged in agriculture. But you can use the agriculture registration for driving because you aren't engaged in agriculture???????????????????????
  13. Just beware that a sign written vehicle is a scrote magnet
  14. I don't think its possible in the UK either be it a zig zag or a car
  15. In the UK a recall could be done through the LOLER system. Lantra NPTC would have details of the inspectors and the inspectors would have contact details for their clients. That would be if everyone bothered with LOLER..... And duck............
  16. The TD4 is the best of the freeloaders.
  17. In a word no, some are slightly better What engine/ gearbox?
  18. You just need a small hammer (pall pein is best), something hard to lay the other end of the rivet on and a flat file to dress it up with.
  19. Well a bit inconvenienced possibly but not screwed. They are in new licence territory, but if they are going for anything bigger than 7500kg, or wanted to tow a decent sized chipper with it, they would be in new licence territory anyway. Offset that temporary inconvenience against the advantages of bigger vehicles and it fades into insignificance. The inconvenience is temporary and the advantage lasts a lifetime.
  20. I don't know what I am missing here, when I did it, it wasn't expensive or difficult. Application for a licence £254 Issue of a licence £397 Continuation of a licence after 5 years £397 Issue of an interim licence £68 Major change to a licence £254 https://www.gov.uk/being-a-goods-vehicle-operator/fees-for-goods-vehicle-licences Other than that you have some minor costs for the advert and a little admin. So the first 5 years is about £130.00 a year for the first 5 and £80.00 per year after that.
  21. Use a short tape sling to put the knot beyond the hitch
  22. Its luverly till you knock the lever while its under load, then you get yourself a @@@@ yer pants moment:laugh1:
  23. I think the reason for that is the place you have been looking is for the reporting of stolen kit, using it as a bench mark to assess the state of things is pure folly. People like to complain about misfortune or being hard done to, they see it as less than the ideal and like to warn others. When things go as they should peoples expectations are met. They see this as the norm and generally don't feel the need to make any noise about it.
  24. Yup that looks like Ermine moth alright. Targeting dead trees would be folly because there would be nothing to eat. That tree isn't dead but the caterpillars have eaten all the foliage making it look that way. Most trees recover although it is a kicking for that season.
  25. Exploring the joint ownership option. If the stem of my hypothetical tree has encroached on the neighbours by 25% how much of the ownership do they have? If land is property it follows that they would have an interest 25%. What happens if I decide to remove my 75%? The remainder of the tree is unlikely to be viable as a tree so what good is owning the 25% to anyone? Similarly if the minority owner decides to remove his portion, they are free to do this and the position is eminently defendable under encroachment. Discuss
