  1. Well I dont think they can. In fact I am sure they can't. Its not inside her control. Are you sure your facts are straight? If she paid the Arb consultants to do the report I would recommend she take it up with them and tell them the difficulty she is having with the insurer.
  2. Something stinks. A small dead apple tree in her neighbours garden! How is that a risk?
  3. Yeah those leaf miners can seriously damage your ears and eyes!
  4. Hmm.... that reminds me...I must buy some mince for supper! Hope you haven't done any lasting damage. Get well soon.
  5. Who knew dust was such a problem. Did you let them know it was low in fat? [ame] [/ame]
  6. Glad you have yourself covered. I still don't get the Facebook position I am assuming it is on the car owners page that is open to the public? If so your legal beagle is best placed to advise on that. I would be interested to know the outcome.
  7. What on earth is "detailing" and how does it differ from a car wash? I can imagine that if it was raining there may have been some chain oil residue as well as sawdust but nothing that hot soapy water would not shift. Sounds like they are trying to use facebook as lever to get you to pay over the odds. Is it your facebook page they are leaving the comments on? Can you not block/wipe them? (Sorry for the ignorance I don't use Facebook). I think you have been more than fair. I would make sure that you put your offer in writing and if they want to take you to court at least you have proof.
  8. Maybe like the oil tycoons they have them locked away in a container until the exchange rate hits the most favourable rate for the supplier. Call me a cynic:sneaky2:
  9. I think they can artificially synthesise the extractives now so the clippings are no longer required.
  10. Just go onto any of the chain/bar selling websites and put in your make and model of saw. and all the relevant bars/chains will be listed for you. I think you have a choice of 13" 15" and 18" bars for that saw.
  11. How much is P&P to Scotland second class?
  12. That does it. I am sending the fuzz round!
  13. I have used landscape fabric on planting schemes where the client has not wanted any use of chemicals and they have worked very well. The fabric holds off the weeds long enough until the plants become free growing. They do take time to install well but if it cuts down on weed control visits I think the time is well spent.
  14. I would reply " Yes definitely. If you cut it into 1 foot lengths and split it into logs no greater than 6 inches in diameter and supply it at a moisture content less than 20% I can pay you £10 per ton delivered. When do you wish to deliver it?
  15. Has a whiff of Viburnum opulus about it. At least that's my inclination. Not sure I would class it as a tree though.
  16. It used to be that fruit trees were not included but now they are. I think that's a good thing others may disagree.
  17. Here is an animation of the first "bore sweep" method I mentioned... [ame] [/ame]
  18. Basically its used during the felling of larger trees when your bar is to short to go straight across conventional style. You form your gob in the normal way and then plunge the saw into the stem just behind where you want the hinge to be formed. you then sweep around the tree to the other side removing holding wood as you go until you reach the other side of the tree and complete the formation of your hinge. You also use a bore and sweep method when doing a plunge cut through the centre of the hinge forming a "letterbox". I hope that makes sense.
  19. If you are contemplating using steel, I assume you are competent at welding, so why not try something sculptural like this... It looks far better than mesh don't you think?
  20. Me thinks they be asking too much. Specially for a saw with three itchy numbers!
  21. +1 I have the Makita HTR7610 (formerly Robin) now 16 years old and they have been faultless.
  22. This one blows a lot of hot air whilst also being vacuous at the same time but could end up being rather costly...............
  23. Acer palmatum
  24. Hello Nicola, Did you ever track down that chain loop you were going to send to me?
  25. Is she making the wing suit out of the stained tablecloth? You are conjuring up some fine images in my head....
