  1. Difficult to advise you really without knowing what interests you. Try and choose subject matter that you are truly interested in as it will turn out to be a real slog otherwise. Good luck with it.
  2. I think it's just poor punctuation Stubby. Title should have been New chainsaw/trousers.
  3. I agree. I have a 660 and it is easily big enough for the trees we encounter and can be handled in the tree too if needs be.
  4. Honey Bros. have an offer on Stein Krieger at the moment (Normally £220 but now £95). May be worth a look. I have never tried them myself so cant vouch for the quality.
  5. English lessons?
  6. So I guess donald Trump hasn't been getting his two shredded wheat every morning!
  7. I misread your name as Wendy's Mood. Thought it rather appropriate given the post.
  8. Where do I find the naked yoga?
  9. I don't think it is lightening (particularly with the larger trees in the background). Perhaps a touch of Pseudomonas is more likely? Difficult to say really isn't it. But they are still not worth keeping. Get them out and plant a species that you would like.
  10. red feathers and a hooly-hooly skirt
  11. Not worth keeping. Remove and replant with healthy stock.
  12. Thanks for the responses. I am not particularly bothered about sporty descents as long as I can get around the tree smoothly. I have used the Lockjack sport mk1 for some time and its a great device for ddrt but I am always looking towards reducing effort and am hoping one of these later devices will assist in that. I like the look of the lock off feature that the SJ3 has but the ZZ is far cheaper and has now undergone rigorous testing in the field! The general consensus so far seems to be leaning towards the ZZ but is that because the SJ3 is relatively new? I wonder?
  13. Thanks. It was the Inonotus part of the name which made me query it. Has Inonotus hispidus been renamed? The poor tree definitely appears to have suffered from some overzealous pruning in the past!
  14. Thinking of investing in a new rope device. Currently considering the Spiderjack Mk3 and the ZigZag. What are the pros and cons of one device over the other?
  15. Great pictures Kveldssanger. Mensularia nodulosa is a new one on me. Saprotroph?
  16. A hefty piece then. A truly great Matterbooboo!
  17. I am amazed at your skill and sense of proportion. The head is much better now you have reworked it. Do you think the claws on its front paws are a little on the long side (a bit kruegeresque!)? Perhaps not. Anyway far superior to anything I could do and many others I have seen at shows. I would struggle with a toadstool! What species was the log?
  18. Can you not fell it in the opposite direction?
  19. Yep. If you have chickens rats will never be too far away.
  20. Me too! It's a real PITA.
  21. I think we should build a wall and make Ireland pay for it. Sorry that was a wee joke!
  22. I would educate the client pointing out the error of their ways and pointing out that the tree survey should have been conducted before any plant was allowed on site. Always best to be open and upfront with this kind of stuff.
  23. The Netherlands response to Donald Trump [ame] [/ame]
  24. Check out this document: http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/treefellingaugust.pdf/$FILE/treefellingaugust.pdf
  25. It depends on the size of the trees but I would hazard a guess at yes. Best way to find out is to contact your local FC conservator by phone and pop the question. They will help you out with the process. If a felling licence is not required I would also contact your LA's tree officer and check that the trees are not within a Conservation Area, subject to a TPO or have any other statutory protection.
