  3. lol, get one and get it out your system!! they run a 2.4 (i think) so a big engine for that size of a pick up gave it really good mpg, get it raked a set of 22s and hydraulics. a mad pimped up tree surgeon mobile.
  4. i had one of them a k reg it was mega fast empty for a pick up, i really liked it, it just looked very dated.

  8. My mates got an 05 ldv its the 2.4 duratorque engine, eats clutches and belt tensioners this then shreds the belts and wrecks the alternator (seemingly quite common according to the garage) i have a smiley face transit never lets me down and gets from a to b ok.
  9. i used similar years ago got them from af warehouse (i think) could not take the slagging anymore that you look like a fly!! they were also really tight mesh that when under a dense canopy it was difficult to see. stopped the sawdust though.

A lotus sunbeam (lookalike) runing a 2.1 pinto with all the trimmings thought i was brilliant !! within a week went round a roundabout broadside drifted into the kurb, ripped the tyres off the wheels rolled over, through a fence and down a banking, mangled the car i walked away but with a few injuries (the harness and bucket seats,roll bars helped) thinking back now what a tit:001_cool: Thought i would get that nonsense out my head and bought a 3 litre capri a week later went round a ...............

  14. it has went through 2 in the last 8 months, i have been getting them recond so they may be using rubbish parts, i will look at the price of a genuine kohler starter and take it from there. cheers for the replies
  15. so they can be converted, interesting, the kohler dealer close to me are very poor and only want to sell you another engine.
  16. very true dean the weld can be sitting on the surface and not got proper penetration, i have a bollard i made myself and i would trust my own welds but as you have pointed out a inexperienced welder could have built it, chance you take i suppose.
  17. i have this engine on a grinder (ram) does anyone know if you can convert them to pull start? it keeps killing starters. Cheers

  21. fantastic thread i was gonna buy a woodburner for the garage too not now!! That smoker one looks good as well, when i worked in a fish farm years ago we use to smoke the fish with chipped whiskey barrels, they were very popular and tasted very nice.
