From where mate, the van or workshop? poor show though.
  19. If you are removing the limbs on a big sitka (or any big conifer) on spikes and you clean the stem right to the top BEFORE you knock the top out check the saw for fuel!! as you dont want it to run out half way through the back cut and have to finish it with the silky
  20. What about this guy martyn ? chainsaw carving UK, chainsaw sculpture Scotland, Dumfriesshire
  21. When sectioning down and drop cutting limbs always check where the end of the limb you are cutting goes, as it could be fused with the one above and tear that off, landing on top of you or could tear our your anchor point. (a guy got killed in perth like that)
  22. yep i agree they were excellent photos
  23. i know i thought there would be more vibrations it was worst when you gripped with both hands...
  24. Burrel was that managing to chip the leafs? as i noticed when i seen stevies working it was putting the gum leafs out whole, it may been that the greenmech chips faster than the jo beau, Dean, there did feel like a bit of vibs when you had to hold the wood but nothing major, i will be getting one when funds allow.
  25. Have you got any quotes for insurance? as it seems you have came up with a figure out of thin air, i just got mine renewed and it was no where near £1500 infact if i never took the cover for my tools it would have been £560 and thats 10million E/L and 5million P/L thats about a £10 a week, i agree with the other posts there is no excuse for having no insurance as you will spend a tenner most weeks on food out the bakers/corner shop.( apart from shreky but thats another point ) But its up to you mate but i would start phoning all the insurance companies and see what you get, mine was from arbinsure advertised on this site, get covered mate or dont its your choice, the posts on here are only offering an opinion and advice but the combined years of experience of the guys offering advice will be in the hundreds so its a knowledgeable resource. All the best with what ever you decide to do,but i would strongly advise to get your insurance sorted. Robert
