  5. I watched a tv programme not long ago called "cowboy customers" you cant take anything you put down on the garden, as soon as you put it on the property it belongs to the client, they went into the legal loop hole that exists there were a few horror stories of guys doing extensions, drives etc and client not paying and they went back to lift the materials and got CHARGED for theft and vandalism, not many of us would not go back but it was an eye opener to think the law was on there side. i am sure that letter will do it martyn.

As long as you are not hurt Tom thats what matters, fairly crumpled it in though:thumbdown:
  8. Great thread tom, its all down to customers you want to try and get yourself a good client base that pay better money as its difficult getting £400 a day off a working man that does not make that in a week (regardless of overheads you have they dont see that) i work part time because thats what i choose to do THAT is the main reason i am self employed, i can do part time hours for a full time wage, that way i can run maintained older kit and it lasts well as it does not work too hard. For me i learned a long time ago the more i made the more i spent on replacing/renewing stuff i already had, everyone is different and its about finding the place you are happy and content in but not complacent and always be ready to shift and move with the times.
  9. Joe,if you are on a budget dont bother with a van get a 2 door diesel car and colour code the side windows out with vinyl, get the back window sign written, fold the back seats forward and make a big box that goes in the back for carrying your gear, insure it as a car miles cheaper.

  24. Your right and a hat and scarf, i had to scrape the frost off the window so my wife could go to the shop and get bacon for my breakfast, it was the least i could do
  25. That would be a cool tat Rich, you would need to go to a serious artist to get it to look right though, but it would be worth the money , i have "nemo me impune lacessit" on the inside of my arm but would like lots more but never seem to find the time or right design.
