  1. Bump? Still looking for a load.
  2. Does that price include delivery costs, UK VAT & Import duties?
  3. I think without tickets you will find it hard. Lots are coming out of all the training centres with reams of paper work in their folders & sadly paper work will win out over experience in this litigations society. Can you get on a training course & get the fees paid for via the job centre?
  4. So about £10 of that is for delivery. Making it closer to the £30 the other person paid.
  5. Did that include delivery?
  6. Wont you get more heat & more control by burning it? Muck heap heaters do work well but do need to be maintained.
  7. Justme

    wet work

They are the right way round?
  8. Midden = old name for toilet
  9. As they say in IT. That sounds like an Id 10 T error Should learn to use their stove better. It has controls to slow the burn & you can put less logs on at once.
  10. Also explains the counting with 6 fingers & toes.....
  11. He works his socks off & should charge more. Er but not me OK?
  12. I have just had Kindlett's saw blade palax here for two days. Doing a lorry load resulted in .75m3 of saw dust (thats LOOSE filled in a bag not compressed solid wood). The saw blade has about a 3mm or less cut width. How wide is a chain on a processor? If its:- 4mm thats 1m3 5mm thats 1.25m3 6mm thats 1.5m3 Of lost wood & extra wear & tear on the machine & more fuel used to remove it. It is also more waste for you to get rid of if you dont have a market for "dirty" (bark, chips, sticks & chain oil) sawdust.
  13. Even taking my time into account its been well worth doing.
  14. That 6 x m3 bags is far more than we can do (with a two man team) using a chainsaw & tractor mounted hydraulic splitter. Me & my son roughly recon it would have taken us at least TWO weeks to do that much our normal way.
  15. In the end there was three of us. My lad feeding the logs in, Wyn working the machine & me sorting any jams, helping on the big logs, fueling the processor & chainsaw, taking the bags away, moving & bagging the saw dust & general dogs body. We could have done slightly more if we were not bagging the logs but not by much. The bags were moved by the 4 tonne digger on a 4 wire sling. Well within the capacity of its lift. We could have used the tractor & front loader but the turning area would have made it hard work to do so.
  16. Well two long days in the end
  17. for the last fing time i never said 30m3 of solid wood
  18. Softwood. In rough sticks for firewood. The last lot of WRC we had for milling was not much more at £750 + Vat for a lorry full.
  19. £650 plus vat. From a local supplier.
  20. Spruce & some Hairy Birch. Oh & its 37 1m3 bags to an 18 tonner lorry load. (by volume as the lorry was full but not weighed as it was dry stuff) So that would be 74 builders bags or " 1 ton" bags as some call them.
  21. Videos to follow when I can get them to up load.
  22. Another busy day today. The total m3 bags in the end was Drum roll please 37
  23. I will see what I can do tomorrow. As I said its Wyn's (Kindlet) machine & he hires it out with operative for very reasonable rates.
  24. Most of it was. A few big logs had snuck in. Not sure the seller said it had been down 6 month ish. For those that dont know this is Wyn's machine that I have hired for 2 days (with him working it). So far well impressed with him & the machine. Nope thats mud lol.
  25. he first 8 1m3 vented bags neatly stacked up. The first 8 were soon followed by another 8 by the end of the day. 16 m3 bags, not a bad days work. We are prob just over half way through the pile. If tomorrow goes as well as today it will be a good day.
