  1. Found it HERE I paid £430 plus vat but I collected it from one of his UK depo's Yours would be less as its for a smaller digger & without the large quick hitch pin (thats about £25 on its own) Its well solid. I have lifted 1 ton logs in the grab & also fitted a D shackle & chains & lifted stuff (heaviest was a 1100kg forklift bat bank) on one of the cross rods.
  2. I have one on my 3.5tonne digger but paid much much less than that. Also off ebay. The guy makes them in Ireland & ships them over. I think mine about £450 plus the VAT but they had to make it special as I have a large quick hitch fitting. I use it for lots of stuff but can lift over a ton with it as the digger is bigger. You could also look at thumbs like this ONE This ONE is just like mine but I dint pay that much.
  3. We use that as the stopper after tying a figure 8 on a bight for rock wall climbing. Rock Climbing Knots: Figure Eight But we tie them with a much smaller loop for the crab.
  4. You just bought it so stop worrying & take it back. They either fix it or give you your money back.
  5. As you are advising me & I in a non professional capacity (as I am not qualified to give arb advice) am passing on information that I have "found" on the web, I doubt any court in the land would convict. I did think that this liability thing had been sorted as a few case went to court & all were found in favour of the advice giver as they were not giving the advice in an official fee charging capacity.
  6. But when they have already said They are already peed off. They have refused to talk or look at the trees. They (NP) have just had some come down & damage the elec cable in the area & had a bill for £k's. So they know that the trees are iffy already. Just seems a funny line to take. Why hide behind the courts when a simple site visit will enable them to see the trees before any action is taken. Then if they still think they do not need to come down the owner can seek other "proofs" that they do & apply / appeal. I guess its coming back to arse covering again. Get some one else to do a report & there insurance to cover it. Then there is no risk to you or your cushy job.
  7. On the 5 day notice does that go to the council or the NP? As the NP have said they WILL prosecute she needs to be certain that she is right. If The NP are acting as the council why have they not said put an application in to remove the TPO on the two trees?
  8. A friend has a small plot of oak trees in a National Park area. They are covered by a TPO. Can the national park stop here having two dangerous trees felled? I thought TPO's were the realm of the council? This is what she said Apart from call the local TO at the council what advice can I give her?
  9. Is the oiler working? Are you sharpening it often enough? Are you forcing it to much?
  10. Its called LOL er'd cos you laugh out load at what they ask you to test.
  11. They normally have a lip at the bottom that would increase that size a little.
  12. Change the terminals you muppet Will be much cheaper. Just make sure you use ones that are up to the load.
  13. Do small one man band type businesses actually have much value? It would be easy to just start up yourself (as you would have to have all the skills already) rather than buying some one out. Unless his order book is full for the year. I think I would contact a few company valuers / selling brokers & see what value they put on it. Then you can use that to justify your numbers on the accounts. Just stick the written quotes that help in the file. Just like you would with any company. You could also get some one to make an offer in writing to buy the company but you turn it down as not being for sale or not enough. Some thing is only worth what some one else is prepared to pay for it.
  14. I think most use the bucket on bigger diggers. On mine it wont even get close to it. So I guess a 10" log about 3 or 4 foot long in the bucket will do it. Next time I will try it. Not that there will be a next time lol.
  15. Best to work out the cost of milling (and seasoning) it as well first if you are going to compare road side prices to retail milled prices.
  16. Rubber track. With a metal one I would have split it by now. I tried using a large ratchet strap to pull the wheel back, no joy. I even tried driving it into a tree stump but that failed to work as well. In the end I put some steel bars in the track & rotated it till it went round the wheel & the stretch on the rubber pulled the wheel back enough to get it back on. I started on the bottom, putting each idler in it right place on the lower track & then levering & rotating the track & it popped on. Lost a full day trying to sort it out. Also had to go get a new end for the grease gun as the grease kept coming out the nozzle & not tightening up the track. Have done the other side too & all the other grease points for good luck.
  17. Well sorted that problem. The thing that the bolt / nipple mounts in had twisted. Bit of leverage & it was in the centre of the hole so could be got with a socket. I have even managed after mucho struggling to get the wheel to retract about 2 " but it looks like it wont go much further but I still cant get the B track back on. Is it best to start at the top or the bottom?
  18. Does anyone have a Schaeff HR16 or similar (but not a golf). I managed to chuck a track yesterday (rushing). Should be a simple job to take out the grease nipple / bolt & push the idler back in. But the hole that the nipple is i is so small & the bolt so close to the side of the box its in that you can get a spanner on it & the angle stops a socket getting on it. I am guessing that there is a "special" tool to do the job. Poss some thing like a supper slim crows foot spanner on a socket extension. Any ideas?
  19. Ah I see its tax avoidance lol.
  20. Not sure I get this. If I was self employed & then went LTD. I would still own the LTD company just the same. So no transfer of ownership & no payment. Any way how can the LTD company pay you a sit does not exist till the company is bought & who / how will it be paid? Surely you are buying & selling it to yourself.
  21. You can tow two with a car. There are regs that describe exactly what is allowed, but basically if the weight of the second trailer is pressing on the first & the first is designed & adapted to carry that load & all the train weights are ok plus the right brakes its legal.
  22. Looking at the operators stance his back wont last long either.
  23. Because when an industry "bigs" itself up using word & acronyms that are not used outside of that industry, people outside of that industry dont want to admit they dont know what the F you are on about. When professionals are communicating with non pros they should use plain language.
  24. Not been taking any wages then?
