  1. You can blame most of these issues on the sellers of cheap stoves. They say most of the wood they will get will be cheap or even free. Then go on to say to only burn wood of type X.
  2. Actually the pint is a great example. If the barman poured it with a 25% head, are you still getting a pint? The glass is full at point of service yet if left for a short while you only have 0.8 of a pint.
  3. The best test to see if they are really full is after they have sat seasoning for a year stick one bag on your trailer & go for a drive. If it moves or settles then its under filled. I still dont think that bulging side actually give more volume. The material cant stretch so any bulge will shorten the length in another direction. Push the centre out & the corners pull in.
  4. Make sure that you are shaking the bags well when you fill them. Done well they are a solid cube with straight edges & stack neatly. Just holding the bags open under fills them by 20-25% & when stacked the look terrible.
  5. Do they all stop working before the bar oil runs out?
  6. My youngest is really into rock climbing. She competes quite a lot & we take her to the "local" walls as often as we can (once or twice a week). As with most things to get really good you need to do it 3 or 4 times per week. We just cant afford that (she gets in to the walls free its the travel costs that hurt) so I have started to make her a small home training board. It is made of Oak & will be fitted above a door way. Will also be making a few other training bits as well. Just need to remember not to oil finish it lol.
  7. Yet oddly a burglar or treaspasser gets the full rights yet was not invited or given a licence......
  8. 3/4" thick or wide? They look more like a few mm thick in the pics. If they are 3/4" thick then that about right.
  9. I have no idea about your problem but would suggest that your stickers are a little on the thin side for good drying.
  10. Also a good time to note that from next year anyone that has employees has to file the NI & Tax returns for each payment as it happens (IE in real time so weekly for weekly paid employees) & not just once per year as you do now. HM Revenue & Customs: Operating PAYE in real time
  11. IF you are 100% firewood then you can be cheaper (or make more money) if you ARE VAT registered.
  12. You buy wood at £100 plus 20% vat & sell at £300 plus 5% vat What happens is this:- You pay £100 + £20 VAT to your supplier Your supplier pockets the £100 & pays the £20 to the VAT man (minus his VAT purchase costs) Your customer pays you £300 + £15 VAT You pay the VAT man the sum of your VAT collected minus the VAT you paid out, so the VAT man PAYS YOU £5 as well. So your profits INCREASE by being VAT registered. Add in all the other bits you can claim back the VAT on (fuel, oils & tools) & you should be much better off being VAT registered.
  13. 2.42m cubed is actually 14.7m3 I think you mean 2.42 cubic meters or 2.42m3. £50 per m3 does seem very low.
  14. Been posted on here lots already.
  15. Most charge now.
  16. Check this one out. It can be mounted on the dipper arm or used free standing. Make sure you look at it on page 5 as well as its finished & painted then.
  17. I have one I use on my 3.8 tonne digger. It was an ex BT one (12") that was much much longer so I cut it down & had a new plate made up that I welded on. I have looked at getting a large screw cone to adapt it but they tend to be quite costly & I have a grab on the digger for picking the logs up & a hydro splitter on the tractor so cant justify it. I would not get a hydrocrack to fit on one as the spin speed is much slower than a pto drive.
  18. They should be 50m apart.
  19. I thought the exemption was for the 3 D's? Dead, Dying or Diseased
  20. You can make a stove by drilling a large hole in the end to a depth of about 12" & then drill in from the side to meet it. You can try to hollow out a cavity where they meet to help it get started. Light some kindling in the side hole & keep the fire going. After a while it will not need any kindling to keep it going. Works similar to a rocket stove.
  21. If you have started the felling cuts then its game over & needs to be felled.
  22. I think had the council stopped him by using the planning laws on change of use he would have been ok as its been going on long enough for it to have some rights. However I think that the TPO is an absolute & he is prob lucky they only want to shut him down & not take it to court. But I am just some RBOTI (random bloke off the internet) so get proper legal advice.

    Jokes???

Fifty Sheds Of Grey now offers a treat for men. Here are some extracts for you to enjoy......... I lay back exhausted, gazing happily out of the shed window. Despite my concerns about my inexperience, my rhubarb had come up a treat. She stood before me, trembling and naked in my shed. “I'm yours for the night,” she gasped, “You can do whatever you want with me.” So I took her to Nando’s. We stood alone on the idyllic white beach. She shed her clothes. I shed my inhibitions. At that moment I knew it would always be about sheds. We tried various positions – round the back, on the side, up against a wall... but in the end we came to the conclusion the bottom of the garden was the only place for a good shed. She knelt before me on the shed floor and tugged gently at first, then harder until finally it came. I moaned with pleasure. Now for the other boot. Ever since she read THAT book, I’ve had to buy all kinds of ropes, chains and shackles. She still manages to get into the shed, though. “Put on this rubber suit and mask,” I instructed, calmly. “Mmmm, kinky!” she purred. “Yes,” I said, “You can't be too careful with all that asbestos in the shed roof. I'm a very naughty girl,” she said, biting her lip. ‘I need to be punished.’ So I invited my mum to stay for the weekend. “Harder!” she cried, gripping the workbench tightly. “Harder!” “Okay,” I said. “What’s the gross national product of Nicaragua?” “Are you sure you can take the pain?” she demanded, brandishing stilettos. “I think so,” I gulped. “Here we go, then,” she said, and showed me the receipt. “Hurt me!” she begged, raising her skirt as she bent over my workbench. “Very well,” I replied. “You've got fat ankles and no dress sense.” “Are you sure you want this?” I asked. “When I'm done, you won't be able to sit down for weeks.” She nodded. “Okay,” I said, putting the three-piece suite on eBay. “Punish me!” she cried. “Make me suffer like only a real man can!” “Very well,” I replied, leaving the toilet seat up. My body writhed and quivered from the pain. I had learned my next lesson. Never again would I leave an upturned plug on the shed floor. “Pleasure and pain can be experienced simultaneously,” she said, gently massaging my back as we listened to her Cold Play CD.
  24. Check out the chilli penguin range. They actually make them so can alter them to fit if needed.
  25. Supplies to non domestic can also be sold with 5% VAT if the delivery is "de minimis" It then goes on to say that De minimis rules apply as long as there is no intent for the fuel to be resold. So you could supply a commercial unit with wood at 5% VAT as long as they intend to use it themselves. All quotes from HERE
