  1. I dont know about risk assessing trees but in standard biss rick assessments it not just about how likely the thing is to happen but also the consiquences of it happening. So a high risk item that is in an area that would mean no damage happened would get a low rating but a low risk item in a highly populated area would get a high risk rating & would have to have some thing done about it. Its all about risk likley hood of ocurance & possible consiquences Justme
  2. What about 1mm steel with angle braces? Or make a frame & get a bespoke lorry canvas back made to fit. You can get bouncy castle makers to do the material bit. Justme
  3. Do those of you that sell it green charge less for it? Justme
  4. In to old days when trafic cops used to help you not issue tickets it was normal for them to use the range rovers to pull artic's that had broken down or jack knifed. Justme
  5. Whats the road side price? Also whats the going rate per mile on delivery of a full lorry? Justme
  6. How much? Justme
  7. 1, Real pictures of the actual item show clearly in close up 2, no pop ups 3, keep it simple, just because you does not mean you should, dont let the web designer add on all the bells & whistles (they will try trust me it increases the bill) 4, dont make people register to see the prices, get postage costs ect 5, be upfront about del costs & time scales, people would rather know that it will take X days 6, do not try to reduce customers statutory rights by using company policies like some stores do 7, dont sell items you dont have instock (that realy pees lots of people off) unless you are up front & say its a special order item 8, if you have links to bigger pictures make sure they are actualy bigger,. its supprising how many are not 9, Now I know I cant spell for toffee, but make sure its spelt & gramaticaly correct 10, dont make people opt out of any mail outs, & word it clearly if they should tick or not, some are very badly worded to confuse people. 9. Also the PTO pump will be rated at full PTO speed so you will be running the engine much fast anyway. Try using the trailer tipping port I am sure that has a larger flow rate for the bigger rams it will have. Justme
  10. Who, Where? Justme
  11. How much to Pwllheli? Thats in North Wales so delivery might kill it lol Justme
  12. A tree encroaching on a powerline perhapse? Justme
  13. I thought they had dropped the idea of a sea fishing licence? This seems to go even further. Also its about time they changed the quota system to stop commercial fishermen chucking TONNES of fish back in dead just because the value is low. They should land ALL they catch & that weight come of the quota. They might target their catch better then. I mean what is the point of putting all that good food back in the sea dead & wasted? Justme
  14. I have just ordered an artic of Larch. Min 10" at the narrow end, front end of lorry all 5m plus, rear of lorry 3.6m plus, 25-27 cubes / tonnes on lorry for £65 per tonne inc del VAT etc to a remote area (added £5 tonne to normal delivery cost). Its for milling up not firewood mind you. Justme
  15. My guess is none. You will be below the legal limit I would say. Justme
  16. Is that in tree lenths still or odds & ends? What sized rounds & lengths? I guess thats plus del? Where from? I am looking for a large load of wood in the round (pref logs about 2' plus round) suitable for milling up to build a cabin in a remote wood I own. Any suggestions on where to source the wood as I dont want to cut the trees in my own wood. Cheers Justme

  21. That looks like a replacement tip for a screw threaded log splitter. They might be cheaper too, just weld a nut on if needed. Justme
  22. Hi, New here. Been lurking for about 6 months. I am not an arborists, just a person with a small woodland that I am trying to manage better than its been looked after before. Its only 1 hectare (thats about 2.5 acres in old money). Its classified as ancient Oak woodland even though its only got a few Oaks in it. The biggest trees are all beeches. So I am here to learn all I can about trees & their care. Justme (Richard)
  23. Thanks for the welcome. Do you have an introduce yourself thread?
  24. I was recommended from another forum after I asked them to remove me cos it was full of council employees bitching about TPOs (they dint seem to know the rules) & their jobs & none of them seemed to know one end of a tree from another. Been a lurker for a long time & just got round to signing up. Justme
