  1. Wow, very expensive, last weeks crane job we had a 55 tonner for 495 all day. I wrote a method statement and they did the rest. Brilliant service too. Not sure if it's to do with locality but even for a Sunday job coming up which is a real pita its 800!
  2. I think it was the 37.5 isuzu engine variation. I had asked for the A430 turntable as we like the bigger chipper but this was available. Very very fast infeed and as we were feeding Robinia with huge spikes on it made for a few scratches!!!!
  3. My navara will do all of that (just) and i wont cry half as much as they will when that nasty branch scratches down the side of it or the boys dent the side of it with the farm gate!!!!! Still, i would have one as it looks great.
  4. We have demo'd this machine and have to say we were really impressed with it, great chip quality, blinding infeed speed and very well built and sensible with it also. The turn table was very smooth and again well built. Electric buttons we a nice touch also.
  5. I struggled on!!!!!
  6. I agree with Rupe with this thread, if you want security of employment then dont p£$s your boss off doing on the books wk end work. "I know of one bloke who turned up to work in a sign written van, and was sacked on the spot, and still thinks that was unfair!!!!! " I also might know someone who became very unpopular by turning to work in a sign written Theocus vehicle once upon a time, i didnt last very long after that point forward. Oh hind sight, what a wonderful thing!!!!!
  7. Give SAS a call in malvern, Specialist Arboricultural Services 01684 892 856 / 07799 642 481
  8. We have actually had this very machine out on hire before, very good for clearance jobs and great fun.
  9. are you trying to get a free T shirt out of Riko!!! looks good.
  10. Yep grinding with a pedestrian grinder is very very overrated, especially one with no hydraulic drive!!!! Don't though try one with either a remote control or lever control!!! You will just become upset every time you look at a stump and know you gotta swing that thing from left to right!! Mind you, gives you muscles!!!!
  11. Second that, very good heads.
  12. we should reel it in a bit this one boys, instead of basking in his fish based grammatical error. He doesnt need this ha-wrasse-ment, its like weaver formed a conger line to take the fish, sorry i mean phish, oh you know what i mean!!!! lol
  13. Yep that is a Czech laksi grinder, also rebadged as a predator 450 and the greenmech and the landforce 450, all with mods obviously. Good grinder although that is a push one and heavy!
  14. And in some cases (not all) its better and quicker to fix the thing yourself!! 3 days and counting with no chipper and greying hair!
  15. Can i just say before anyone thinks it was our 160 chipper, that machine was handed to us the night before by Vermeer as our chipper was taken away for fixing and that was how it performed in the morning. Back to the topic Small chippers that i have used and thought were brilliant, Timberwolf 5inch petrol V twin. Great machine to work on as well, Have also used the Greenmech eco chip another great little machine.
  16. The smart feed had issues and was holding the wood against the blades. The may not of been razor sharp but the infeed as can be heard was the issue with this machine. The 160 is an interesting machine, great idea but not there yet.
  17. It was a different chipper, the blades were fine, its the smart feed that didnt work on that chipper. We gave up with that machine!!!! My old 620 vermeer was brilliant compared to these new ones.
  18. Oh really i thought it was pretty good for the deal i had, i visited their factory and had alook around and was really impressed with what i saw and the build quality was great. I even bought some hinges and catches at what i can only believe to be cost as they were soooo cheap compared to others i have seen. I think i could of made one for half the cost with the welder but its on the truck now and looking good. I did ask tipmaster for a quote....!
  19. Dont worry about offending me i do not own one of these, this one had 10 hrs on it, the blades were sharp and it was the longest chipping day of my life! Here is another video of another 160 with 15 demo hrs on it, Vermeer do big machines very well!!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nhns_gGmW8]Paul Doyle - YouTube[/ame]
  20. We have had a few due to our bigger machine being repaired on a regular basis. Here is a video of the 160 at work, make your own assumptions on performance! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSnCLQ208Bw]Vermeer BC160XL - YouTube[/ame]
  21. TGS coachbuilders in Bristol will make you one, i got a bargain from them recently for my truck. Brandnew box + roller shutters for less than a grand, happy days.
  22. Its been 1 month now and i still do not have the machine back!!! I gave them a call to see 2 weeks ago and they said they would chase it up and so far not a peep back! I have checked with Stihl head office and regardless of point of purchase the warranty is honoured at any dealer etc etc.
  23. Harkie Jacket. lightweight, high collars, long backs and 100% waterproof. Really had reservations at first due to the cost but they are really really good, this recent weather has tested them but i have always been dry at the end of the day.
  24. How about... Lowering solenoid for my fenner power pack. From Fenner £40 from a master of tipping advertising somewhere on this forum.......£170.00!!!! Im sure there are better examples than that though!
  25. well that show slipped past me, i completely forgot it was on!
