  1. I have the 3gs and it does mms, got a great vid camera, pic quality is awesome, I manage my emails etc off it and when it rains you can get on arbtalk in the truck. Best phone I have had by miles. There are so many cases, mines a solid case which lives in my pocket constantly during climbs, in the rain and so far it had done any damage.

    iphone apps

Get this app called Road Trip, it calculates the MPG of your car/truck then works out cost per mile etc etc and even over the year. I find it really useful except constantly towing with my navara and the big ifor trailer brought the mpg to 19.4!!!!!! Its a useful app for sure.
  3. Iphone, its the only way. Apps galore, GPS, Maps, Weather, Just get a good cover and there is even a perfect iphone shaped pocket on the stretch air trousers!!!!!!
  4. Fair play to the boys at Riko, i have received a new splitter head and Chris (above) was in the office on a Sunday sorting it out. The machine is now tearing through my log pile and it would seem that that was prob just one of those one in a million bad eggs that you occasionally get with machinery. Again a big thanks to Chris and Stephen for sorting it all out so quickly.
  5. Use the link on here for Riko, i bought the a12 road towable and its wicked, really powerful, can be pulled around by one person easily. I offer the service of slitting the trees i fell for clients and 8/10 times its extra work from the job. Brilliant bits of kit.
  6. Have you tried Fountians in Ross on Wye?
  7. I am glad i am not the only one sat twiddling my thumbs, all paper works is now done, logs are delivered, quotes/trees looked at!!!!! just sat waiting to get back to my site!!
  8. I am hoping i have just been unlucky and got one with a "minor issue"!!!!! I am guessing they will replace the broken bits, just frustrating as i had to go back to the old faithful that i made a year ago!! That never breaks as its mild steel and completely over engineered by myself. Its tractor mounted so hence why i bought this.
  9. As i said, i am not slating the machine but i dont think it should do this!!! Also an image of the leaking hydraulic ram!!!
  10. well, some bad news for the A12 k650, mine has had 4 tanks of fuel through it and the ram is now leaking and the metal has sheared to the left of the splitting knife. It appears to be made from cast metal as opposed to mild steel. I will put some images up of the problem and also hopefully get some response from Riko on monday as to the problem. It has a 4 way splitter on it but to be honest i have not been putting anything to gnarly through it. I am not bad mouthing the machine as the build is great but mine has gone bang!!!! 4 tanks and prob 6-8 cubic meters split.
  11. When i picked mine up from the depot the larger A12 was there and it was a beast!! A couple of annoying things with the health and safety side is the splitter head stops about 4 inches off the bottom plate meaning that stringy wood such as cherry etc doesnt fall apart as easily. The double handle mechanism again is a pain but with a bit of mechanical mindedness can be overcome. I purchased mine to hire out to clients and also add another service to my business and so far it has been great. I have the fourway splitter on it and larger rings get mullered!! If you get a tow ball and adapt a handle that sweeps up as i have you can make the machine much easier to shift about. I intend to get a pneumatic jockey wheel for it at some point to assist. Its a great splitter, very powerful and wont stuff you back as long as someone else is doing all the bending down!!!
  12. I have the A12 650, and it is a lump to move about, flat ground for one person, mild slopes can be done with 2 easily. Absolutely ruins you back though splitting near to the ground all the time!!!
  13. Other ideas include, bring a rolled up news paper and some dried flowers, feed it through the chipper!!! instant confetti!!1 Its all a long shot but its better than cleaning up the pick up to go in!!!!
  14. Right, bit of an odd one this. I am getting married next September and want to arrive to the church a little differently!!! I am looking for a contact/someone who has a newer shape mog such as the u300/500 unimog who would loan it for the day!!! This will probably not happen but its worth a try just to see the father in laws face as we leave the church!!! I will off course be towing my chipper too!!!! I actually live 200 yards from Mudie Bond in Tewkesbury and will obviously enquire with them but as is the world of Arbtalk someone here may have a better idea!! Anyway i have a while to go/change my mind so now rush as yet!!!!
  15. Ive got the A12 road towable, and its build quality is great, very powerful and powered by subaru!!!!!
  16. I stand corrected!! They are adjustable but you still have to stand on the rungs, the ones I use have a large platform to stand on which is is easier to work from. The tripod ones do look okay though. Maybe a small version would be handy.
  17. Looking at it rupe, do you want me to come with tractor instead? lol
  18. I will give abc a call about the issue too, i have every scale on my ruler bar the one they chose!!! The frustrating part is there was no break down of marks etc or any feedback with your results! Lazy markers!!!
  19. If it helps guys i bought the biggest set of steps ever, the Hedge Master professional. They are wicked, i havent found a hedge (as yet) that i cannot do each foot/leg is extendable and adjustable so you are always level, there is a large platform to work from and there are guards at the top so you cant (well you could) fall off. The extension kit ib bought takes the platform upto 14 feet in height then with extendable trimmers your away!! Down side are the feet are fragile as they are hard plastic but fully articulate. Oh and they are fairly costly but the engineering is really good. HedgeMaster Ladders from Active Mail Order The tripod ones just look unstable and i guess anything other than flat ground is a no no?
