  1. My zip area just tore out of my stretch airs, not the zip but the whole thing and all i did was kneel down!!!!! they are amazing trousers though and definetly better than the stihls, if just for the material wear.
  2. I am very much up for it, i can get together 4-5 people for a climb in the country or prussic in the park!!!!! My lady friend will be up for it too, she is a paramedic so there is the H&S form filled out!!!!!
  3. I sat the exam recently as a retake and Badgers came up as one of the main Q's for law also:!! Q1. a) Describe the differences and similarities between a Woodland TPO and an Area TPO. b) State the problems encountered with the use of Area TPOs c) State how normal forestry operations could be affected by the creation of a TPO. d) Explain the significance of the Forestry Act 1967. Q2 Explain how both rural and urban hedgerows are affected by UK statutory law. I am not sure which past papers you have but these were a few of the questions last year. Read the ABC tech cert guide as i found Myerscough left quite a bit of info out of the notes. hope that helps
  4. It works fine on my ipod touch but not on my mac with firefox. Very odd.
  5. Would this be for the Tech Cert? Pm me if it is.
  6. I built my own, cost me a total of £800.00 for steel, alloy sheets and a canvas top. Looks wicked and hold plenty. Learn to weld and be good with a pop riveter!!!!
  7. I know i know, think i was tempting fate there. She only moved it whilst trying to be helpful so i couldnt have a go at her. There is a company in Tewkesbury called metal scope who are brilliant at making anything out of metal. I have already spoken to them about doing my chipper and they said it would be very easy to do. I even now restrict my groundie to one saw now as he keeps blunting my 360 and 460!!!!!! going to get him an 018 i think!!!! I have to face the fact that nothing stays shiny for ever!!!!
  8. Too late for this thread, my lady friend reversed my tipper to move it out of the way and jack knifed my chipper!!!!! crush crush crush. I wasnt there to cry at the time. I am getting the front corners and top checker plated for protection within the next week or so. I will let you know about cost etc etc and how it looks.
  9. Wierd, who is using a mac or Pc?
  10. Is is my computer saying that there is a virus threat with this site or does everybody have this warning come up? Forest machines from Jas P Wilson Was looking to get some prices for a botex grab etc but the site doesnt play ball.
  11. Good to meet you today John, was a tad damp but i think worth while overall. We managed to get a fair bit of interest etc which is always reassuring.

We must try and get a SW meet up one day.

    Regards

    David

  12. I just got some today from a local quarry, £2.20 each and can go back when ever which is good.
  13. Always on the look out for a free bag, wait does that sound wrong too?!!!!!
  14. Anyone recommend somewhere to get some builders sacks, they seem to be about on ebay etc but would rather go to a dealer. Or hang around the back of Jewsons!!!!!!!
  15. I cant focus!!!!! See something then its gone, then again.....gone!!!!!! very flashy!!!! and very old skool!
  16. Paintball claymores!!! now theres a good idea!!!! Or a sign that says "Recently i have been mostly weeiing on my log pile"!!!!!!!
  17. no idea of the size, i just found it on you tube. Christmas trees are a git to chip for sure. thought it was worth a post anyhow.
  18. Just thought i would post this for all to see. I know they are good for lifting and shifting but seem to be struggling with the chipper attachment. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dha6O2ps]YouTube - Boxer 532 DX with wood chipper[/ame]
  19. They are silly money, but what a tool to have. The Iveco Daily i have is really good for tight drives etc, never had a problem towing anything. Put it this way my groundie filled it to the top with chip and towed the TW150 chipper home with the handbrake on!!!! He never noticed. The choice of trucks is endless, go with what you want and can afford.
  20. My Iveco daily is awesome, i dont look after it and it just keeps working!!!! Save up and buy a 4x4 one!!!
  21. Hey all, My old man lives in Eastbourne and i live miles away, he needs a few trees sorting in his back garden. If anybody is in that area and wants to have a look then let me know. Its nothing major but i would rather someone of Arbtalk did it than a random that my father may find!!! Pm me if your interested.
  22. And if you look at his list history he has sold an ms200 and an 026, in which he states he is only selling the ms200 as he is retiring!!! But isnt the chipper sale for an upgrade to a 9 inch!!!! lol Maybe he has changed his mind recently!!!!!!!
  23. Trees are down, removed, ground out and tidied up all in the 4 days. It rained all day on Thursday which wasnt the best but all was good otherwise. We used a little Avant 520 with a loader for all of the stump grinding waste. Absolutely saved my ass that's for sure. Will be using one when ever i can now
  24. Nobody i know of with a roof mount locally, i plan to have the trees down in the first 2 days, 1 day picking up wood with the tractor the other with the grinder. It should work well enough. The client wants it done within 4 days, so what can i do. The last company i worked for i was using a Valmet and Botex 560 mounted on a trailer, that would be ideal for this. As for the rain, i am not really fussed but would rather be tanning than soaking!
  25. Crane is not a possibilty, but a large tractor/trailer, close tip site, Vermeer Bc 1000 and a TW150 2 chip trucks and 6 guys should do it!!! Logistics are a nightmare but should work. Just this rain is going to ruin it royally.
