  2. Hi andy nothing to do with your nice timber sorry m8. I was reading the paper the other day and there was a article about discharge into the river and your name was next to it I said to myself that name rings a bell , and for the love of me i could not place it , or have I , was that you. do you ever have cord wood for sale over the border ?, seen some stacks when iv'e gone fishing at Alderby hall

  6. at that price mate i would chew his arm of to get it of course unless it is in the price delivery at about 15 to 20 quid a ton still cheap . between 50 / 55 around this part of the world deliverd in . some people are paying betwwen 25/30 quid standing they must be lottery winners
  7. Hi there you say the veh docs says it's a 1984 110 v8 converted from new to a 130 by spe veh that dont sound right why would l/r convert a 110 to a 130in 1984 there was no such veh as a 130 it was a 127. and if seb wanted a larger veh surly they would of asked for a 127 chassis in the first place . if land rover converted the veh as a factory veh it would of left the factory as a 127 and not a 110 as you say thats what is on the docs ? if this is the information the insurenc companys are working on then you may have the reason the would not tuoch a veh that does not tally up . do you know the history to be correct a 127 is the same chassis as a 130 it just sounded better when the defender range came out so i presume as only the chassis was changed it should still be classed as a 127 ?
  8. I dont know but when the engine is running and is over heating is the radiator hot or warm if hot then yes flush the system, and clean out the fins carfully and blow it out the way it came in . or if the rad is warm when running hot does the engine coolant system have a thermostat this could be u/s and not opening to allow coolant into the rad ?

  13. Hi james i used to drive the 66 every week and on the way up from east to west we used to stop at a cafe , i say cafe it must of been a old small holding on the side of the road and the grub was cooked in the kitchen and you sat in the front room and tucked in ( good grub ) it was most welcome on a cold day, i remember the walls had photos of old trucks on them albions matadors, erf, bedfords but no arrtics, and i do belive you could see tan hill from there.good days
  14. I got some rods from car/boot i find the cane ones best , but the brush one is plastic a bit more give on the bends . and a good 6 inch brush very stiff . the pipes are cleaned 2 times a year mid winter and end of may . Before i brush i get the fire roaring and place a packet of fire witch into flames then next day brush the pipes never had a proplem in 15 years. fire witch is a chemical which turns all the soot in the system to a crispy powder which makes it easy to clean ,
  15. In my area i have seen 3 of these self builds all using the old entec truckloader ,they seem to do what they are made for , a handy all in one unit ,which most 4x4 big vans can pull around .
  16. they can only rocket so far then it will be back to what is cheapest , to be honest alot of people are being riped of now with some prices for c**p which is got for nothing in the first place .but as you rightly say we have good fire wood timber [ hardwoods ] being pushed into bio-fuel less hassel for the owner ,down this way a crying shame
  17. I must praise sweden for such a load of squit , because one day before crimbo i went to a dealer in saws and for some reason they ended up with a b/new 346 with the said , in the way braky thing ,dealer could not sell it so was threatning to cut of said rear end growth , to him i replied no sir how much for that saw £300 lovley jubly i said , of course i asked if i remove the thing will it afect my warrenty no was the reply , money was paid and of i went with my new saw , got home fired it up and gave it a wurl , the tool kit came out and after a mo the growth had been removed to revel a very good 346 saw thank you mr husky.
  18. Somthing i did to deter the festrering scabs of todays society from nicking my 130 was to get a piece of scafolld pole about 3 to 4 foot long cut a slot on one end to fit over the clutch pedal and drill it to allow you to padlock it on so all you do is slide it up through the steering wheel then down over the back of the clutch pedal and lock it . A extra piece if required is to weld a loop near the wheel and lock that to and paint it very bright so they can see it before the damage your rig , can also be used for self defence.
  19. as norm he can see you are doing good for your self and them pound signs are rolling in them eyes he wants more cash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and lots of it . even if you get the agrement on paper he wants a piece of the action cash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for nought thats a farmer for you or to be fair 99% of them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. The bar in the picture does not cover the chain oil port you can see straight away that the bar is not the correct fit. on the bar will be stamped the chain size to be used with it 325 or 3/8 no disrepect mate if you have the user hand book with it should give you all the info you need to operate and maintaine your new saw , me thinks thay just slung the wrong bar into the box
  22. only trouble with gortex of any type is they dont like oily substance once its on it lets the wet stuff in,and it wont wash out blocks the porse up
  23. Monkeyd its near Norwich my work is mainly in the broads, but we are sometimes allowed to go and do some dry sites .
  24. Here are some pics and answers to all your questions . The job is to clearfell all scrub about 3 to 4 h over a 12 week period 4 year project into 3rd year ,we do leave quirky bits and rotten wood and the odd small stand of ash and oak ,the area is normally dry ish . but in the winter it can be 3 to 10 inches this year we have been lucky only 1 week of ten inches .all material is burnt in 3 metre square floating trays they are moved around site by winches and snatch blocks every monday we empty trays into 45 gallon drums remove from site to a skip. its a hard work but hey ho i like it must do iv'e been doing it for 15 years. and very rewarding it is .the veh on this site is a holder A60t with d/d igland winch plus terra tyres and a volvo bv 202 stripped of all the rubbish and been fitted with d/d winches, and the fetch and carry is a iron horse fitted with a winch and buck.some of the terrain their on is hover that is a mat of roots grown over open water it is about a foot thick and then 10 foot of mud and water intresting as you move around on it moves like a jelly.
