My pair are nearly year old and are great. I'd agree with Peter, contact who you got them from and explain. They are good boots.

Salisbury Road? If so, there are a number of trees that have visible fruiting bodies on them and evidence of damage. I would suggest gathering photos to demonstrate that they may have required work and then let the insurance have a crack. IMO this statement is that one that I would be asking them to prove. "Our investigations have shown that there was no evidence that the said tree was diseased or dangerous prior to your incident. The branch has simply fallen due to the extremely bad weather that we had on this day."

Petzl is a good harness. I had one until I lent it to someone on here and never saw it again. Cant comment on Harkie, never seen one

I don't think that they are 50ft from the picture, (i have been known to be wrong before though!!) and I would say that the ones in the middle look like bonus trees. I personally can't see there being more than a days work there, (if nothing goes the shape of the pear!!). Did you get it done?

Used mine for the first proper time on Saturday reducing a Conifer. Can definately see the advantages. Took a little while to switch from systems in my head but can see it being a very handy bit of kit.

You could use whatever friction hitch etc you wanted mate. It was only the rope that had to be the same for everyone.
