Aren't they fairly expensive over there? I'd offer him a token gesture, If you say he's a decent bloke I would doubt that he'd take it anyway. But I agree that you shouldn't just have it away.

All is well and good untill a branch gets caught up in the loop. You should always have a straight line down to the deck if possible. What happens if you need something sent up? Just get a shorter length and have that as a strop.

Go on to the Samson Rope website. There are some very good PDFs that you can use. Its exactly the same information as in their Splicing Manual. Splice looks good by the way!!
