  1. Looking for a bit of advice really. One of my mates has given me an ART postioner. To cut a long story short, his boss sold it to him, he never used and and therefore sold it to me. My question is this. I believe that its a 2004 model and it still has the small rubber rings on a zip tie attached to the ring. They have perished where they've not been used for a long time. Do I need these to operate it? I've set it up and had a play with it on the ground, and it works just like a Lockjack. I obviously want a bit of clarification before I take it to dangerous heights. The rubber rings are (as far as I can work out) only there to aid the cam locking onto the rope. If I'm putting weight into the system, do I need to get some more rubbers ( Behave!! ) or will it still be useable and pass a LOLER?? I can stick some pics up if it will help anyone, but I was hoping there would be a few guys on here that have and use one of these and could give me a bit of advice. Cheers for reading. Tom:001_smile:

  4. Congrats mate. Brilliant news. Well done!!! Give the lad 4 years then get him on the Stumpgrinder!!!!
  5. You'll find it easier with boots without a heel as they lock the rope better. Some of the best advice was to put up in another thread on here. Dig around and you'll find loads of stuff:thumbup1:
  6. So do you climb as you would with a VT or traditional Blake's?
  7. It won't self tend though will it?
  8. How do they make the red and blue stripes in Aquafresh toothpaste? If you cut a tube open its white!! This has bothered me for years!!!!
  9. That video was frightening!!! The Skipping rope bit!!! WTF!!!
  10. Give Proclimber a look, I got mine there for £99 +Vat. There is a good chance that the price has gone up a bit though.
  11. Everyone has said most of the main points. They are awesome bits of kit. Like everyone has said, cut the shrinkwrap and anything that could get stuck straight off. Do you use a Lockjack John? You put the two together and the lack of friction is scary!!!
  12. I've just been and had a look at mine. It turns out that it has a right hand thread and not a left hand thread. I feel so foolish and can only offer my apologies for mis-leading you all......
  13. I've got one, It must be the other half of the pair. Mine's got a left hand thread though.
  14. Good Job Dave. Excellant work mate.
  15. I'll be there on the Friday. I'll be the one begging for spare change and offering to Dance for Equipment!!
  16. I'm going to say a Ferrarri and/or an 090!!!
  17. I'd agree with Charlie. If there is the chance, have a go on the quad bikes if they've got em. Me and the Mrs had a go in the desert in Egypt couple of years ago and it was great fun.
  18. Nice one Bob. Cheers for that. Enjoy the rest of your Holiday. It's nice to know that the Arbtalk addiction still effects abroad!!!
  19. Dean, What do you mean Anti-cut shroud?:confused1:Do you or Bob have any pictures? I'm intrigued!! Cheers, Tom
  20. I wondered that!! The shots of him going up were pretty smooth.
  21. Use a rope guide with it as well mate and you'll never look back!!
  22. Some people really need to lighten up a bit. That advert was great!!
  23. Great post Pete. Thanks for taking the time. It speaks volumes when a lot of the experienced guys are shocked by seeing that, so it can only go to highlight the dangers for the younger people coming in. Good work mate.
