    Watchmen

It does look very good. I'll be watching it. Never read the comic though. Didn't the guy that wrote it hit the roof and say he wants nothing to do with the film though?
  4. I think it comes down to knowing your audience in the end. I've got a mate that is epileptic and, like Penfold, would probably find most jokes about it funny. On the flip side, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here, I have managed to silence many a room completely with the wrong choice. It's a fine line IMO.
  5. Ha ha. Very funny!! Seen it before but still makes me laugh!!
  6. I can remember starting out and doing a big thuja, I kept telling the boss I was tired and needed something to eat and he kept ignoring me. I knocked the top out of it and then I couldn't remember for the life of me how to tie a basic system. Think I was dehydrated and needed grub. In the end I had to be lowered down and then put up with weeks/months/years of piss taking.
  7. I'm sorry for your loss mate. Sounds like a top chap. That is absolutley disgusting though. Why could they not have done it in private? All that is doing is making an awful situation worse. I know that everything is H+S up to the eyeballs but some things can be done behind closed doors.

    colleges

I think that it also doesn't help that a lot of people think that being an arborist is only a case of climbing a tree and chopping a bit off. A lot of people started college when I did and thought that they'd breeze through it. They soon found out that it wasn't going to be like that at all and dropped out when they realised that they would actually have to work. College lecturers and technicians can only turn out what is put in front of them.
  9. Absolutely breathtaking!!! That would be a hell of a risk assessment!! Everyone was talking about the Operator, I was more impressesed with the host standing underneath it!!!
  10. How many of you were climbing? Was it a big group? Hope the chap is alright.
  11. Terribly sad news. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.
  12. I think that a rule of thumb is, If you have to ask, You know it's probably not worth putting it on.
  13. I remember a mate of mine urging me to eat the jelly bits when we were cutting a big yew hedge and I can remember thinking "Is he winding me up?" Decided to just go for it. The Jelly is really sweet and not bad at all!! Like you said though, NOT the seed!!!
  14. Ha ha!! If thats refering to the facebook group, I'm just gutted that I didn't think of it first!!!
  15. OOOOHHHHHHHHHH!! That looks nasty mate!! I think I might wait a minute before I start my lunch now!!
  16. Nice one Justin, As soon as they're in, I'll have a couple.
  17. I'll be there on the Friday. Going to go a step futher and tattoo "My Name Is Tommy B..." on my face. Thats got to be worth a few beers on the stands!!!
  18. More than likely it's not their tree. But, If you want to be cynical, and in light of reading Charlieh's Thread. You never know if they were just ringing up to see if you were in.....
  19. I'm not jealous at all!!! Only joking, Have a good time mate. keep us posted!!!
  20. What was the height of the Redwood Frank??
  21. I take it you had a go on one and were converted!!!! Brilliant bits of kit!!!
  22. 65ft. Its fat but not that tall.....
  23. I'll start saving now.....
  24. I went for the slightly less effective way of assuming the climber was 6ft ish and then working out how many of them would need to stand on each other's shoulders!!!
