  1. brought a 460 off ebay for 50quid as a dodgy runner(fuel starv symptoms) thought it was worth a punt, got it home, took the top of the carb, cleanded the crap outa the wire filter in the carb, retuned-took me 15 min of basic maintencnce for a fantastic saw! brought a 023 a few years back, ran perfectly, still does just be carefull!
  2. i find the gecko to be anything but bouncy! seeing as most of you hate the M'gecko with a passion, what ropes are out there that are fat and not got any stretch in them? (dont wear gloves so thin ones make my fingers ache, and am not a toddler in a baby bouncer!)
  3. i love my gecko! hate stretchy ropes, and thin ones, geckos perfect for me! that reminds me to get the boss to order a new one:)
  4. not sure about sheep or goats and orchids-fussy eaters they aint!
  5. used manx sheep to keep heathland maintained-worked well!
  6. what sort of strop you using? ive got one with approx a 2" ring around 3 inch from the saw that clips onto the tool caribina which the strop fixes onto the harness use a screw gate tool bina with the screw always open
  7. im full time employed, and not looking to change that, but made a few contacts-3 for places to offload wood, and 1 looking for an occasional climber(cant refuse extra cash with a CC coming!), aswell as an intresting resourse and a free pint at the apf!
  8. i had one a couple of years ago that did crush me rocks, got another now, and its perfect! leg loops arent tight atall-loose enough to just slip in and out of without adjusting atall (couple of inch loose). the elastic from the back support to the legloops ive slakened off as far as they go, and the belt itself(the belt that runs across the back support and clips together at the front) is tight, and wear it across my hips-(not above my hip line like some do) infact same line my trouser belt would hang. this setup for me, makes me not notice im wearing it! hope this helps
  9. sorry i havnt got back to you powcaddy, mates nivara is 2.5K high mileage but tidy condition. if i were buying a crewcab, id go for one where someones brought it to get the lifestyle-inner city muppet! go for one without a towbar, and get one fitted myself-that way you know it hasnt been used to pull heavy trailers for possibly, every mile of its life!
  10. stupid question, but were the poplar stumps poisoned dean?
  11. hi jonsie, any chance i can order the 45m marlow gecko rope from your specials post?

  12. i hate wearing gloves with a passion! i like to be able to feel what im doing, when climbing i trust every bit of kit so much that i never think about something going wrong-as do most climbers, but i never trust my gloves! just cant get my head round it!
  13. its at hinchinbrooke (spelling) at the 6th form college(near the hospital) theres a few big cedars visible from the road-that being the closest. would love to take it down when its times up
  14. droooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll nice one giles!
  15. howd you know my plans?! some trees are like ladders-a 6yr old wouldnt hesitate free climbing!
  16. thats alright mate, cedar had lost a big limb, i went to clear and tidy the rip, 1x box lorry of chip, 2x box lorry of cord! back to the thread! FREE CLIMB to the top!!!!
  17. when on monster trees, when spikes arnt allowed, and the next anchor point is to awkward to get your rope round, pull a ladder up!
  18. found that huskys require more maintenance than stihls to keep them in good condition-my 200t will start on one pull on the choke, if im quick, i can flick it to half throttle and it'll run from that same pull!
  19. along those lines: i havent cut your eletric lines have i??? no dear phew, the kettle still works then! customer-'howd you take your tea?' with a slice of cake and a bacon sarnie:D
