  1. Good idea, hes still got bills to pay! By coincidence, ive been talking to the bankmanager about taking out income protection insurance-bank will pay my income if i have an accident and am unable to work, for aslong as im signed off-up untill retirement age! anyone else have any sort of insurance? tragic. . .could have been worse though

    theres nothing wrong with the 12 week courses, the 1 week, probabally yes. just a terrible accident, accidents happen, sad fact of life
  6. the three saws and spikes are worth near on a grand if in good nick! its a bloody good deal stockers!
  7. electric warn, around 12.000lb-most powerfull for that sized truck without being stupid! get a fabricator to make you up a mounting plate, or aftermarket winch bullbar

  10. isnt that what, in a round about sort of way is what the arb assosiation approved contractor was supposed to be about? (untill they got too wrapped up in fairy stuff like 'your eyewash is out of date, you havent got a COSHH for your computers ink cartridge' instead of focussing on the quality of work to which the company can produce) ???
  11. after giving it a good clean, you tried re-tuning the carb? guess you cleaned the carb wire filter too? (i brought a ms460 off ebay for £50 as a dodgy runner a few months back, took it home cleaned the crap outa the wire filter i the carb, and now got a cracking saw!)

  13. few weeks back, i was up a lime, knocking deadwood out sometimes unintntionally as i climbed, saw my groundie with no helmet, shouted down to him to get it, so he walks under the tree to the truck, gets helmet, walks back under tree and just as he raises his helmet, bang clouted on the head, split it wide open! bit of good fortune-working near opposite addenbrookes A+E! diddnt knock any sence into him though
  14. yep, id second raywood ash (aka claret ash)-got a beautifull row of street trees in cambridge, colours amazing right now, will get a photo on way home tommorrow. and yep, theyre very brittle, rip outs every half decent wind
  15. wouldnt nutrients to the soil start reversing the effects of any toxins? tree doesnt look like its on its last legs so anything that we can offer the yew to help it on its way to recovery has to be worth a shot??? sorry for daft assumptions, but havnt any real knowledge it this area:sad:

  23. first stand or walk shoot yesterday first drive was crap tbh-farmer had lifted the beat on friday so no birds! rest of the day was good, not a huge amount about, had to be choosey, fair few squeakers-a few were shot had a few cracking screamers stop dead, so was well chuffed:) plenty of drink through the day, then far too much at the dinner, no bad head today though! hows everyone elses season going???
  24. i know a few lads in cork, one runs his own tree firm, if you need a starting hand over there sure theyd set you up, like prev' post said-go for the craic, the irish are up for one hell of a good time, as for the soft southern accent on the girls (drooling) seriously tempted to move there just for them:)
